Hi everyone, i have a question, For some reason im very very frustrated today...I have so many questions.. Maybe because its getting warmer outside and i want to go do the things i usually would do.....
What exactly causes the swelling? My hand last night and today is double the size and hurts SOOO bad today.. I just want to know what it causing it? IF i have RSD fine....But i still need to know what is causing the swelling? My knuckles are purple! Is it a circulation problem? If so is there a test for circulation? To see whats not working right? I was at the grocery store walking today and i looked at my hand and arm after being there for 5 mins and it was swollen and had white blotches all over hand and arm....It seems to me that the more i do things to move my shoulder the more swollen my hands get(which makes me want to believe the problem is with my shoulder?) uhgggg i cant take this Does or can nerve damage cause swelling? What causes bad circulation? Can SOMEONE please help me? sandy |

i do not know if you have been diagnosed with rsd, but in general yes, if your nervous system does not tell your body to pump fluid and blood in the proper way, then you get a pooling of those fluids and thus swelling. also if your nervous system is sending the wrong messages about if there is or is not pain, or how much pain, then you get the wrong signal and feel intense pain where there should not be intense pain. rsd is basically a screwed up signal system. with you, if your arms are hanging down in any way, this encourages the pooling of fluids, and things like opening and closing your finger and hands can help get things moving. i don't know if i've helped but that is the simplest way i can explain it all .... and even at that, and with years of reading, it never truly makes sense. joan

When you go to post a reply, under "additional options" click "manage attachments" and then you can upload a file from your computer by clicking "browse" and then after you've selected it click "upload". Usually pictures are jpegs.
Hope that helped... or you could put your photos on photobucket and then copy the image link to a post. ![]() |

There is a test for circulation - but I forget the name but I had this done by a cardiologist. Darn RSD! I was given this test to make sure my subzero hands were that way from RSD and no other cause.
I did find this link. http://www.connectmedical.com/help_p...rculation.html
