Good luck. |
I use to be this way until I started having hot flashes around 35. Then the weight pilled on over the next couple years I gained 20 lbs. Then I got rsd and gained another 20-25 lbs. I am going to see about getting put on estrigen to see if this will help. I will try and eat healthy snacks in between meals also. But I tell you I'm craving chocolate just sitting here writing.

Ah yes...the chocolate. That's been a tough one and my one cheat a week is usually related in some way to chocolate...or coffee. My boyfriend is terribly mean and has been buying these flavored coffees and creamers that he knows I like and then offers me a cup every day. I almost always turn him down...but once every couple weeks or so I give in...especially if it's cold outside. He's generally really supportive with all the other food changes I've made...but I think he's just getting back at me for getting him hooked on the flavored coffee and creamers. He was always a straight black with nothing in it sort of guy and now (and this is apparently MY fault...whatever) he can't drink his coffee without at least some flavored creamer.

The coffee with flavored creamer. Got to agree that is definitley a breaker. My husband wont go without either so dont feel to bad.:D

well I gained another pound. All my labs came back normal so I called the gyn and requested estrogen. Maybe my hormones are so out of wack that I am gaining weight. Will try this for 30 days and see if there is a difference.

You know what's really strange? I've been having really bad back spasms a couple days this week and my stomach got HUGE yesterday. I swear...I looked like I was pregnant. Couldn't wear any pants (I was extremely sensitive around the waist) and then today my jeans are falling down and my stomach is back to "normal" (which is still much bigger than it used to be). What IS that? I think it's swelling from the RSD that I get when it flares up bad in my back, waist, etc area. I swear...what RSD has done to my body is just ridiculous and a lot of it is swelling and inflammation I think because it's just in the areas where I have the RSD now. But to change like that from one day to the next...it's just odd.

Catra,
I have heard of fluid retention but that is crazy. RSD does strange things now we can add one more to the list. I have been watching and trying to eat in moderation and only eating apples for snacks but at the end of the day. I am just famished. |
Well at least it's gone now. I really do think it's just because of the RSD in that area.
Have you tried maybe having something a little bigger as a snack? I don't know how you feel about salads...but I find a decent sized salad with chicken in it along with chopped up veggies and fruit can be more filling. I can't not eat when I am hungry and putting meat and veggies and fruit in the salad seems to make it more filling. Sometimes I have more fruits, veggies, and chicken than I do lettuce...lol...but it works for me. Or maybe just trying smaller meals...but meals all the same. Cooking can be very difficult for me but if I am feeling good then sometimes I will make enough food for a few days all at once and then later all I need to do is reheat the leftovers for meals over the next couple of days. It's usually too much for me to cook multiple meals during the day but reheating is usually not too difficult. But stuff I make is much healthier than anything you can buy that is just ready to heat like tv dinners. |
