i am very sad to say that i found out my rsd has spread. what started out in my right toes, foot & calf is now in my hands. how strange is that? i guess having carpal tunnel surgery in both wrists back in 2001 is enough for this awful disease to latch on. not only is the carpal tunnel back in my right wrist but i now have rsd in both hands & wrists. thank the Lord that i still have full mobility and can still control my hands most of the time. i am seriously hoping that catching it early combined with aggresive treatment will hold everything steady for a long while. i am so very glad i discovered this site! thank you all for your company, understanding & support!!

I am very sorry to hear that your RSD has spread...but with proper treatment early on you can hopefully maintain full function and use of your hands. My RSD spread from my left ankle to my entire upper body, including both arms and hands. I have the pain of course but I think it could have been much worse than it is and I believe this is in large part because of agressive therapy. Except for really bad flares when the swelling is too bad...I have full use of my hands...something for which I am incredibly thankful. Hang in there and keep us posted on how things go.

I too am sorry about hearing of your spread. Keep moving your hands as much as possible so as they will not cramp up. Yes aggressive therapy is a key player in recovery and remmission.

I'm sorry to hear about your spread. I'm dealing with a similar situation now too. My RSD has been in my legs but it recently spread to my wrist and I also had had surgery on that wrist about 10 years ago for a nerve related issue. I think the previous surgery there makes it a "weak spot". My physical therapist explained that to me and it makes sense.
Hoping that you can get some positive results quickly from catching it early! |

Sorry to hear your RSD is spreading, mine is in a huge flare up at the moment & is spreading too. I have it in my left arm & now it's started in my left foot heading up to my knee, just waiting to find out if it's also in my neck. I hope the treatment helps you.
