Default Antibiotic Help

Hi,

Does anyone know if these 3 antibiotics have a wide range? My eye is no better and I have been on IV's for 3 days. My MD believes I got the infection when I was in the hospital.

Omnipen IV
Garamicin IV

My MD also has me on Bactrim tablet. I appreciate your help from the bottom of my heart. Hugs, Roz

Hi Roz,

Sounds like you've got all the bases covered there.

Garamycin specifically covers eye/ear infections, the Omnipen is a broad-spectrum antibiotic - basically ampicillin (penicillin) - and the bactrim has 2 ingredients to target penicillin-resistant bacteria.....yup, between the lot of them you should get this nailed!

BTW, I give garamycin to my doglet when she gets eye-infections (no comparison intended ) - it always works!

I do hope you get through this very soon and start to feel better,
all the best

Hi Artist,

Thanks so much for your wisdom. I have just come off of these oral tablets.

Avelox
Azithromycin
TobraDex eye drops

I am kind of wondering if it's viral as well. Hugs, Roz
