Default passing out

Rsd suffer' since 2004. I was wondering if there are others out there that pass out like I do. I pass out ALOT. Had one this morning.

Pain is soooooo bad, my body just shuts down, and out I go. I hate it. My head is not the same the rest of the day, when I have one of these episodes.

It's like I'm in a fog. I was wondering if this happen's to other rsd suffers'.

Do your drs know about this, and they haven't found a combo of meds to manage your pain? Do you have a pain management dr?
What meds have you tried so far?

This has happened to me...though admittedly not for a while. I had a really bad spell where I passed out and ended up with a sprained wrist on to of everything else back near the beginning. But I have grown so accustomed to the pain now that it hasn't done this for a while.

However...when the pain gets really bad I can get dizzy and nauseous (sometimes so bad I even throw up). My boyfriend says that I get a very distinct "green" look to me when the pain is really bad. So even though I no longer pass out from the pain I still am affected by it when it gets that bad. And of coutse it takes a lot out of me too so I am very fatugued, have a hard time concentrating, and can't hardly think straight. And my heatrt rate is also now constantly at a high level because of the constant pain. I would imagine we are all affected differenctly by the pain.

I'm sure you've spoken to the doctors about this, but if not it is always good to check with them to make sure there is nothing else going on.

Absolutely time to revisit your symptoms with your primary CRPS doctor.

Passing out is not a "common" symptom, not to mention darn dangerous!

Default passing out

Have spoke with DR. Is trying to get me to a neuro dr. Insurance is fighting it.

Hasn't happened to me in awhile, was surprised by it this morning. Thought the lyrica was working. Guess it only does so much.

I've been passing out since 2006.

hmm I passed out a couple of times after starting with lyrics, its totally out of my control, but I have read that because of the red that our heart rate goes from fast to slow so quick at times that it can cause you to black out. it could also be your mix of meds. also could be a way that YOUR body responds to pain. some people cannot cope with that much pain so the body shuts down. again a beast thing as it is different with each person. I hope you can find an answer soon. .. and why if you diagnosed with RSD is your insurance denying a neurologist. hello it is a nerve , auto immune, orthopedic, vascular, ..well all around infliction. but hello R= reflex, S= sympathetic(as in sympathetic nerve) D dystrophy.(usually applied to a neurological disorder. good luck man .

Anything else happening before you pass out? Vertigo for example? Is it always happen when you hit a certain pain threshold? Do you get the champagne bubbles popping in your head before you drop?

It's really hard to pinpoint the cause of some of this stuff. By the time you get insurance approval, lots of times it will clear up if it's intermittent, and then it'll return months or even years later. So, frustrating! This might actually be an example of a good time to visit the ER, right after a fall. They'll likely perform tests that are time sensitive.

Also, were you passing out prior to taking Lyrica? It could be a serious side effect to your taking the medication. I've personally always had bad reactions to that type of med.

I have the same problem but it's usually the result of getting several pains at once and in the middle of the night. I get terrible intestinal pain and this usually accompanies the rare times I've fainted. The cause isn't apparent but could sometimes be related to the suppression of peristalsis caused by the medications. It's always been a couple bad pains at once but one seems to reinforce another. I try to assume positions where I won't be injured if I pass out.

Avoiding gassy foods after noon helps for me.

Unhappy passing out

Passed out this morning. It was a bad one. My brother said that I looked at him smiled, and said, I'm going to pass out, next thing I know, I'm in the hospital. I guess when I fell my (L) leg got twisted in a way it wasn't supposed too, broke foot, tore ligiments in knee. After hospital went to see my doc, who got pretty mad at me, and said to go see a neuro doc NOW!!!!

Guess I'm off to see the neuro doc.

In ALOT of pain today. Prayers are appreciated.

Good luck. I hope it works out as well as possible.

If you think you're going down head for the floor or a soft surface.

Take it easy until that foot heals.

Grape seed extract helps me prevent spread (I think).
