Help question about a clinic in tampa, fl...

hey all,

i live in hendersonville, tn but i am going for a consultation at the RSD / CRPS Treatment Center and Research Institute in tampa, fl.

does anyone have any experience with this clinic or any information they wouldn't mind sharing? i have exhausted all of my options here as far as what is offered by clinics surrounding me.

my boyfriend and i have considered moving to florida the last couple years and then my neurologist suggested this clinic so we are seriously considering moving depending on how the consultation goes and stuff...

if you would rather not say publicly, please private message me or email me at macartums@hotmail.com.

thank you very much!!

it is a research clinic. and they do not take any I mean any insurance. it is expensive but if you can find a way to get the money . these dr,s are the leading specialists in RSD/CRPS. they are trying to get the ketamine coma approved by the FDA for trials.. they do ketamine infusions, and educate in all possible treatments.. I have asked my comp insurance many times to pay for this as it might be my best chance but they will not pay up front full price for anything..(comp by the way) hope that helps.. it is called the RSD/CRPS research clinic and it is in jacksonville FLA

there may be a clinic in jacksonville but the web site for RSD / CRPS Treatment Center and Research Institute lists the address as tampa, fl. i also double checked the location when i scheduled my apt. maybe they moved or is there a similar clinic in jacksonville? i'm all for checking as many clinics i can while we are in florida. i know there is a mayo clinic in jacksonville and i also plan on trying to get an apt. there.

thanks for the tip about the insurance...i read about that on their web site & was explained all of this when i scheduled my apt. i'm not sure how we'll handle all that yet but i want to see if they would even consider me a candidate for the ketamine infusions or other procedures first. where there is a will, there is a way...lol

thanks!

http://www.rsdhealthcare.org/

I've talked to them a few years ago about my wife who has RSD. At the time, I believe the first visit is $500. I still would like to take my wife there but she's already done ketamine infusions at GW Hospital, but not their formula in Fla. I believe they have a 10 day out patient ketamine procedure.

Hi if you are talking about Dr. Kirkpatrick in Tampa, Florida. I have experience with the clinic. He is wonderful, however, he does not accept insurance. So if you have a lot of $$$ then you should see him. He did Ketamine infusions on my daughter when she was 14 and 15 years old. One of the most knowledgeable and compassionate doctors I have ever met. I live in Tampa as well, Can't say that I have met any other knowledgeable docs here for RSD. And if you think you are going to get any pain meds, think again. They do not prescribe ANY and I mean ANY opiads. It's a very difficult state to live in for pain.

same dr just different address .. maybe its a personal office . i don't know but when I called all hopes took a nose dive.. this is great for research. but as sandy said unless you are rich, or have way to get ahold of lots of money it will be very difficult to go to the RSD/crps research center. but they do have dr,s associated with them that are in different parts of the north east I believe..its been a couple of months since I looked but.

Default Hi Macartums

Welcome to Neuro Talk. Do see that clinic in florida. I live just south of Tampa bay. I have heard there is alot of help for RSD in this state. This clinic is known to alot of the physicians down here. I moved here for health reasons too. No regrets. I wish you all the best, and hope you get help for RDS soon. ginnie
