Default crushing pain in my legs... anyone else?

Question: I have what feels like a crushing pain in my legs. The best way I can describe it is like they’re in vice grips. I can’t figure out if it’s in my bones, or muscle that I feel this, but it hurts like hell. I take a high dose of Neurontin, and a handful of other drugs, and I still get this pain from time to time. Makes me wonder if it is bone pain… but again I can’t tell if it’s that, or perhaps the muscle.

If you have this as a part of your RSD, what are you doing to relieve it?

Thanks in advance for any response(s).

Vrae,

This is how my RSD started a few years ago in my foot felt like my foot was in a vice grip and there was a cement block scraping the top. Are you on any opiates? It is a horrible feeling. I also noted soon after this that it felt like running water going down my foot. (ice cold water) just strange. Now I have the feeling in my lower leg and foot. With burning in my other foot.
I don't believe this is muscle or bone but nerve pain.

Sorry you have to go through this I know it is not fun.

I get this fairly regularly...it is awful. Crushing pain is right...it's so deep that it literally feels like someone is smashing my bones into nothing. It is the worst and most severe of the RSD pain that I experience.

I get this in my foot. Its a horrible feeling. The crappy part is nothing helps when it happens. I just lay there and kick it around like a mad woman.

yep... the feeling as if your legs are getting ready to implode.. I get that. and crushing pain is an excellent description.. and it radiates upward .. sorry you feel this. and wish I had advice for you in how to lessen this pain.. I'm still trying to figure it out.. my meditation, breathing , music, pain killers, nope it seems impervious to this..... I wish you better luck with it.

Thanks to all of you for your responses!! Yeah, I’m on 1800 mg / day Neurontin, along w/ Ultram, Soma, and opiates for break through pain like I’m having tonight.

Let’s see I posted this three days ago, and got through that night of crushing pain and it’s back again tonight. Tears roll as it is crazy pain. I have that liquid feeling too but mine is warm (although I have cold CRPS II). Mine started in 2004, woke up from a discectomy surgery w/ CRPS II screaming in pain and could not tolerate even a sheet on my foot, and my ankle felt
shattered. Over the years it has changed somewhat and has moved up my leg, and then the other foot, and now both feet & legs with occasional electric shocks anywhere it damn well pleases.. and I do mean anywhere! Thank God that’s not often that it starts hitting me randomly all over my body. The Neurontin does help with the elect shock, and tremors but this crushing pain… NOTHING seems to make it go away when it starts (always at night), and I just have to keep ramping up on opiates to try and keep ahead of the pain, and often times that’s not possible to stay ahead of it.

This crushing pain is different from the electric shock, but it’s brutal too. I just wasn’t sure if it was maybe the bone density or muscle mass being effected by RSD/CRPS might be the cause. I’ve taken all the weapons in my arsenal and it just barely keeps the pain at bay. Ug! Thanks SO MUCH for the responses!! I hate that you all have this too. Thank you again for your responses as it lets me know I’m not alone in this. xoxo

I also get this feeling at night but also when a storm is coming. I sympathize with you because all I do is cry when it happens and I want to cut my foot off. (no I would not do it) but it increases the depression I have.
