Default is low potassium common in RSD?

I have had RSD for 4 years now and recently discovered that I have really low potassium after a recent blood test. It was low enough to send me to a nephrologist and have to take huge prescription potassium supplements along with spironolactone to retain potassium --never knew low potassium could be so dangerous. I was wondering if this is related to my RSD? Anyone else have similar issues?

Default I would like to know!

Hey there!! I have very low potassium myself. I take four prescribed potassium supplements every day and it is still low. Yes, I take half of a fluid pill daily, but four potassium pills per day should help!! I also have VERY low D and B levels.

I have wondered if it was from RSD (have had it 20 or 21 years), or some malabsorption problem.

Would be curious to see if others with RSD have this issue.

Nanc,

Thanks for your reply, do you take the very large prescription ones because the ones I have are so big I nearly choke on them (I take Klor-Con 20mg twice a day). Have you found any ways around this?

I take Pot-Chloride 10mg tablets, they are not as big as the Klor-Con. I take 4 of them daily, sometimes my dr bumps it up. Maybe you should look into them, might be easier for you to swallow.
