Default Medical Alert Bracelet

Has anyone ever used the usb medical alert bracelet from Care Medical? Here's the link to the one I'm looking at because I have multiple medical issues.

No I don't know of anyone using this. It is a good idea for multiple issues. except the fact, that if you are not concsious and away from home, how do they know how to revive you or if it will cause more issues for you.

I just ordered a pandora look alike. And they can look in my wallet for a list of meds.

for those looking for a medical alert bracelet I found a company who makes really nice one's. Ladies I love my pandora style. The company is hope paige designs. Found them on Amazon. They offer free engraving as well.

Funny you should ask. I was thinking about posting about similar issues. For example, should one of us with upper extremity CRPS become incapacitated and emergency responders go to hook up an IV in the affected limb, it could be distasterous.

Any thoughts? Has this been previously posted?

The other option would be to wear 2. One with the usb and the other with engravement saying NOIV Lt. arm. or something like this.

Mine says CRPS/RSD, rt. ankle screws, no mri

I forgot that I need IVIG if exposed to MMR or other infectious disease. UGH! Well hopefully I won't be unconcious if this happens. Or I will go get it put on. MY MISTAKE.

Is IVIG something all of us affected with crps need to have if exposed to MMR or other infectious disease? I haven't heard of this. Do we need to worry (as if we need another worry!) about getting our vaccines? I'm not due until 2020 but appreciate any info. I learn so much here.

For some reason, I do not keep my antibodies from immunizations. Found out when I had labs done after I had a positive TB skin test. I do not know if this may be a precurser or not. Never thought about it.

Are you concerned that someone with bad intentions could download all your info from the USB? That's my issue with getting one like that. Very cool idea though!

Supposedly, it's protected where only your information about your illnesses and meds and such are seen without the password. I'll definitely be looking into it more because of the multiple issues I have...RSD, narcolepsy with cataplexy, sleep apnea, fibromyalgia, etc. At the moment, I'm only on meds for the narcolepsy and cataplexy...I just deal with the pain for the most part cuz I hate taking meds.

I have a Medic Alert Bracelet that I got from the Medic Alert Foundation. There is a special ID number on the bracelet, as well as a phone number that can be called 24/7 by health care professionals in emergency situations. Under my ID number, my medical conditions/ info, medications, up to 5 emergency contacts (including MDs), health insurance info, and other stuff (organ donor, advance directives, etc) can be accessed by medical personnel. I purchased the bracelet from Medic Alert -- they sell necklaces, watches, other jewelry, etc -- and pay an annual membership fee. I was in a car accident several months back and the hospital had all my medical info before I was able to tell them, because of my Medic Alert bracelet! I would look into it!
Be well,
Jen
