Default Dr Schwarzman?

My nuero refferd me to Dr Schwarzman in philadelphia because there are no Rsd specialist drs in Maryland, and to hopefully try IVIG befor I would try ketamine. Has anybody seen him? My nuero sent me his information and he seems like a good dr.

I think most folks with RSD in the US have heard of Dr Schwarzman. Supposed to be one of the best in the world. I believe it may take a two year wait just to see him. Better book that appointment now.

FYI there are many rsd specialist in Maryland and DC. I don't know what IVIG is, can u enlighten me?

Also as Jimiking stated it takes several years to get into this dr. I know Dr. Chin, DC is doing ketamine and Midatlantic spine and pain in Newark, DE is also doing it.

Just a thought if you don't want to wait.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intravenous_immunoglobulin thats about IVIG. And Dr Swhwartzman does it. Im not ready to try the ketamine infusions yet. I did just call this drs office and gave them my info and if my dr calls him personally my wait wont be "as long". And maybe even my current dr can cordinate with him.

IVIG is also used when you can't keep your antibodies to such things as Hepatitis B, MMR. This is very interesting I looked it up on medscape since wikipedia is not a realible source.

I don't know if any of the dr.s I mentioned do this. But if you can't get in sooner, give them a call and see.
Good luck!

We love Dr Chin! She is pretty easy going and much easier to see. She is also willing to try other things...my daughter tried a magnesium infusion at one point with her consent. Much easier to get to. We waited over 2 yrs to see Dr S and he has trained enough people across the country at this point that you can find others who are just as good. Especially if you are considering ketamine which is what he specializes in.

Dr S. is Great!
He Dx'd me a couple decades ago.

Find a teaching hospital, and call their Neuro dept. ask for the 'Chief Neurologist'!
Ask if they treat RSD!
Ask the tough questions!
Ask if they Know Dr S!

He's great, but not God!

Get your self some help!
Quick!

check out the midatlantic spine and pain website. It says they do platelet rich plasma as well as ketamine. It is a little different then IVIG but the same principal.
