Just to make clear, SS looks at many factors when determining disability. This made a difference for you, but would not for many others.

It can vary, widely. Some spend very little time with you. Some are quite thorough.

Some good info can be found in one SSD forum. Read the sticky about applying inparticular. Buying (or borrowing a copy from a library) a NOLO guide for SSD is a good idea as well.
