so .day before yesterday I was barbecuing and I burned my left arm(which has active RSD) of course it set the entire arm ablaze. so next day I tried to do some out side work with kids. (always "trying".) and showing my sone how to use a shovel I hit a root and the shovel vibrated my RIGHT arm and cause a really bad reaction from palm to neck. now at this point my right arm showed occasional symptoms of RSD but after this I hurt for a couple of hours. so today I woke up and my arm felt like it had prior to shoveling so I thought I was lucky. till tonight .. now remember I burned my left arm friday and today is sunday. well tonight im putting some books on my sons dresser and all of sudden my right arm starts to hurt. and swell all of it and this is really odd in the exact spot I burned lft arm my right arm started to burn hotter then the rest of the arm. traceing or mimicking the burn from the left exactly.. is that common for RSD or is this just a real oddity possibly just coincidental??

painman,
There can be a mirroring effect happening. Unfortunately RSD can spread in this way it can go from foot to hand as well. But what has happened to you is unfortuntate. Sorry to hear about your burn and spread. Hopefully it will disapate.

Once you have this the slightest trauma can start it up at the injury site. How slight? my first was from the use of a sensitivity pin 4ins outside the affected area, went from below wrist upto elbow. as alt1268 says mirror spread are common but any slight injury anywhere ccan cause it to start there so it could be either or both in your case.
