Default Has anyone tried butterbur?

My neorologist recommended it and I've been experimenting with it for a few months now. I don't want to give up on it because it's one of the few things that has had any effect at all, but at this point I'm not sure if it's helping or hurting.

Right from the beginning it changed the nature of the pain in my hand. It normally feels like a bus with hot tires is parked on it (when it does hurt). With the butterbur the intensity of the pain is about the same but the pain is more sharp and less "pressure".

I recently discontinued it because I was starting to feel very out of sorts in the evenings and was blaming the drug. I'm considering doubling the dose and if the symptoms come back then discontinuing it entirely.
