Default teeth issues anyone?

I was diagnosed in May 2011. Last Dec I had one tooth crowned, then I had an abscessed tooth in March so root canal and crown there. I also had something going with one of my wisdom teeth and it was taken out in April. NOW I was eating some Halloween candy (I know..bad) and crunch crunch...you guessed it...a broken tooth! It isn't the filling that was in the tooth, but the tooth itself. This means I am in for another crown! What gives? I am hoping they can do a temporary filling now and the crown in Jan after my dental ins amount restarts. sigh. Anyone else have these issues? It just seems like I can't win sometimes. I am due to have another ketamine infusion the week of the 12th. This will probably be my Christmas present.

I know a lot of RSD patients have trouble with their teeth, even those who never had issues before RSD. I will admit i didn't have perfect teeth before RSD but things have definitely gotten much much worse since I got it. i need a ton of work but my teeth have been my lowest priority...so much other stuff took priority. Next year though I plan to start my long journey of getting my teeth fixed (hopefully). A part of me is very scared though...I don't currently have RSD in my face and I worry about spread...

I have been fortunate not to have any dental issues so far, except my gums. They are a little more sensitive. But I agree with Catra, many rsder's have dental issues.

I have heard of people have issues too with teeth. Also some meds can dry your mouth our which lack of saliva can cause cavaties too.
I encourage you to tell your dentist about how you have rsd.

I am sitting in the dentists chair right now. The change in my X-rays from last year to this is stunning. Not in a good way. 😭 I have decay on the neighboring tooth and the one that broke looks bad too. Hopefully I won't need another root canal. I want to seriously cry right now. In fact I am crying. I work so hard to take care of my teeth. Please pray I won't have to go to a periodontist to have some gums taken out with all this. I guess a good thing is that I will get another trip to Seattle to see my family since my brother is a dentist up there and I can get the crowns for only the lab fee. Just trying to think of a positive right now. I go for ketamine next week so hopefully the will be better. Right? My plans for today have totally changed. Now my TMJ will act up. Sigh. I just feel pretty defeated right now. 😢

I have had huge problems with my teeth, I think it is quite common. From what I have gathered problems can be from the medications but sometimes it just seems to effect the teeth for some unknown reason. If you are able to try and find a dentist who is familiar with Crps there are a few out there. good luck

I don't have any broken teeth, however, I have suffered from extreme hypersensitivity for over 2 yrs now in my teeth...mostly my lower jaw/teeth. It feels like an ice pick picking away at my teeth! I can't eat anything too hot or anything cold, so mostly room temp foods and water. It is hard to eat anything at room temp, but I have too! I lost 80 lbs in 2010 (one year) bc the hypersenitivity was SO bad I couldn't eat anything. This was before I started the gabapentin. It has improved somewhat, but it is REALLY bad in the fall/winter when the outside temp gets cooler/cold! I am so sorry you're in so much pain! My heart goes out to you!
