Default Hi

Hi and thanks for your responses. I tried to get on a low dose of baclofen three times...just can't tolerate it. I do take Xanax which helps me sleep. What's more disturbing. Is the muscle wasting in my legs

Debbie,

This is such a horrible thing. I am so sorry that you have all of these symptoms with this awful disease. I wish you all the best and hope you have less pain tomorrow.

Love,
Jenny

Not sure if this helps or not....but, hand pain while sleeping can be due to carpal tunnel syndrome; there are numerous other reasons. Not every affliction we have can be blamed on CRPS (don't blame a cold on CRPS, right?) so it stands to reason that your body is allowed to have as many different problems as it wants to!

That said, for CTS wearing a wrist splint at night while you are sleeping can have positive effects, if that is the problem (sound reasons for this). Immobilzation on the other hand, can exacerbate CRPS. Maybe see a neurologist to see if CTS and treating with wrist splints is a consideration for you?

I recently tried Spider Tech tape. It is much less constrictive than a brace, but can help support or slightly stretch areas. It felt great for 4 or 5 hours and then I had to remove it, so I wouldn't try it for the first time at night.

I sleep on my left side with as pillow between my hands and I rest my affected hand on the pillow, kind of on the side of my hand, so it's not outstretched or curles up too much (so it's not stiff in the morning).
