I am also on Cymbalta, Tegretol, Norflex and flexeril.

My PMD said it nay be doing more harm than good at this point an to figure out what to try next I need to be off of the Lortab. He said I will not be a pleasant person to be around for about a week. I told him I wanted to wait until after Christmas then. He suggested if I was going to wait to at least cut back the amount by a pill or 2 until then. Aside from that the plan was/is to cold turkey stop.

Anyone ever just quit pain meds cold turkey? Just wondering what I am in for.

Hi fbodgrl, I have gone off pain meds, anti-anxiety, but not cold turkey. I was on vicodin for years and lorazepam 1mg. I was taking 4 of each a day. When I decided to go off, I reduced one pill each per month for 4 months. then the last month went to 1/2 pill each pill for 2 weeks. I have found that I'm in too much pain with severe severe daily headaches 7 days a week 30 days a month. So I've gone back to 1/2 a vicodin and 1mg. lorazepam once a day and some days need to do that twice. I'm going thru an extremely stressful time in my marriage, so feel my body is reacting to the stress and need the medication back. I just started on anti-depressant two days ago to help. I had been off anti-depressant for 6 months and that wasn't working to be off of that med. I've had rsd 16 years-diagnosed 5 years into it. I feel gradually cutting back was the best for me, although I seem to need to be back on the meds for right now. Hope this helps. take care, loretta:)

Thanks!

Yeah even at half my regular dose I am in considerably more pain at this point.

I generally tell my PMD I am willing to try anything as far as adding and removing medications. I am glad I have my appointment in a couple weeks. I threw my back out a week ago and that is not helping matters either.
