Heart Burning stomach?

Hello friends... It's great to see familiar names.. I have missed you all... Can I ask anyone if they are having trouble with their tummys? I am having a hard time having my food, even pills to drop into my tummy..lump in my throat for hours..also burning tummy which again lasts a whole day and more..each day. I have had many GI meds and endoscope procedure, twice. Nothing is helping. Dr. S office advised me this is common for internal RSD and to have the pill, camera study done which will show gastrophrosis. It is the only test that will show it. My GI Dr. is not RSD savey...

thank you in advance.. Soft hugs to each of you...

Kathy

hey. I have many issues with the burning, most of it is acid reflux due to the pills, they put me on two pills for it. I have also had the issue that my pills are effecting the muscles in my digestive tract so some times my stomach is like a jar with out a lid and if i lean over the contents dump out.. still working that one out. good luck to you

Hi again. I haven't posted much either...gotta be careful not to let stuff get to me LOL.

I have had the issue of feeling like my pills (and sometimes food) are stuck in my throat. I sometimes get the burning stomach, as well. I know I've read that internal RSD can do that...plus mine only started after RSD went internal. My throat will also swell a lot of times when I sing...which really bugs me cuz I love to sing. Things seem more intensified inside just like they do outside. Like when I'm hungry, it's a burning hunger. When nature calls, it screams. Oh and when that stuck pill finally makes its decent, it scrapes its way all the way down.

I'm not big on doctors...thankfully I have 2 great ones now...and I'm really not big on some of the tests LOL. When my RSD started its spread, I compared what I was feeling inside to what I already felt outside. Sadly, the burning scraping feeling can seem so much more intense on those tender internal tissues. A doctor actually told me just yesterday that RSD wouldn't show up on an MRI except sometimes in the last stage. No wonder it's so under-diagnosed!!

Hope you feel better!!

Hi Kathy! Sorry to hear about the tummy issues you are experiencing. I have been having some tummy issues also. I get these sharp shooting pains in my stomach (and elsewhere) and then I get really nauseous. My stomach sometimes burns and just hurts. There are no meds that I can tolerate that would help the burning.

I had two pill cams several years ago and it was prior to this recent RSD spread. The first pill cam failed, meaning it stayed in my stomach and took pictures there for the entire 8 hour study. The second one was successful because the doctor went down my throat with a scope and placed it where it would exit my stomach. If you are going to have a pill cam done and pills are not going down, I would recommend that you discuss this option with your doctor. Nothing like going through the prep (ugh) and all the time on the test for it not to work

Good luck!!

Default Stomach trouble too

I have stomach trouble too. Had it before RSD was diagnosed. BUT, the numerous drugs take their toll too. I take Prilosec OTC twice daily; one a.m. and one p.m. The burning, nausea, choking are still problems but not as severe as without PriOTC. I also try to eat a bit before taking my meds. An empty stomach leads to a hard landing for a meal of powerful drugs.

3 to 4 times daily ...
