I have my first pain management doctor appointment in the morning. Any suggestions on what questions I should ask?
What were some of the questions you asked your doctors when you were newly diagnosed? THANKS! GutsyGirl |

I would start with something to the effect of.....
How knowledgable do you consider yourself regarding RSD and it's treatment ? How many RSD patients have you treated ? What types of treatments have you offered to RSD patients ? Best of luck. I hope this PM turns out to be a great one ! I've just been disappointed so many times, I've vowed not to get too excited until I've seen that a new doc IS different from the others.....

A good pm will have a wide approach. Interventional, he will push therapies, perscribe medications like nerve meds and topical agents. Maybe pain meds but not typical on first visits. Hopefully there is imaging of your area.
If you get a good doc, build a good chart, stay as long as you can. These days, pain management is a blessing.
