Default Help with prescription costs

Hello: I just talked to someone who went to pick up a prescription, but could not get it. The cost was over $900!!!

Does anyone here know of some programs that would help this family. They have reached the do-nut hole and have to pay full costs. Last year this same family paid over $17,000 for medicine. If the husband does not get this filled, he will likely die.

The only thing I could think to suggest was to write their representative. They do not qualify for medicaid because their income is too high. They would qualify if they could deduct their medical expenses from their income, but that is not allowed.

Does anyone have any ideas? Is it legal to get drugs from Canada?

I just wish I could give them some good news and some hope.

Regards, Lil
