Default Nia On Dance Moms had RND?

I'm embarrased I even watch the show.

That being said, considering Nia's mother is an educated woman, I was not at all impressed with her description of RND or her manipulating the girl to answer in a way that allowed her to dance on an injured foot. The doctor didn't appear to be terribly knowledgable either. If it was just a random ER doc, then I'm not sure what the point was.

Did anyone else see this week's episode?

Edited to add: I stated "had" in the title, but I guess I should have said "has".

I watched it specifically because of Nia. I had read on Facebook that she was going to be on there and talking about the condition. I was very disappointed too. I felt like her mother was pushing her too hard and minimizing her pain. And her description of the condition?? Type A personalities develop it?? That was crazy!

I had to laugh when I read your post- that the mother said Type A personalities develop crps. I'm far, far, far away from being a Type A personality. I'd go so far as to say I'm not even a Type B- I'm a Type V maybe. AND I have crps. So much for television educating the population.

I thought that sounded awfully familiar when I watched that episode! I'm not sure what Type A is vs Type B anyway, but it sounded fishy to me!

Type A is typically one who is competitive, self-critical, impatient, stressed, workaholic, aggressive...you get the point

That was such a load of bull that Nia's mom said...so much for awareness...

I am very critical of myself. OCD like it is cool. But all of the other things listed I am so opposite from it is laughable

I would say that I am definitely Type A...

So, is that why I got RSD 22 years ago?? What a joke!!

Confused

Okay, we'll, I'm not competitive, definitely NOT a workaholic, I may be a bit critical of myself and stressed, but I'm not aggressive in the least. Yes, that was very strange for her to say what she did. I was thinking when she was describing Nia's condition, that it sounded like CRPS, until she got to the Type A part. Not knowing at the time exactly what a Type A personality was, I just dismissed it. Now, I think it's totally absurd to say something like that! Ridiculous!
