Default Getting to know eachother! :)

I want to start a thread about getting to know eachother. A place for us to post who we are: our hobbies, what we like or dislike, our favorites, age, where we live, our families, anything you want. So we can define ourselves without our disease. CRPS isn't only who we are. I want this to be a happy thing. To show us that we are more than this "beast". So we know that we have a life to appreciate.

My name is Angelina, I am 29 and I am a single mom to a 5 year old beautiful girl. Her birthday is the 20th so we are celebrating it this sat. She is very excited! I live in Post Falls, ID in the USA. I love where I live, except when it snows. I live in the mountains and sometimes get stuck at home. But even then it is so beautiful! I love to crochet. I have made 7 blankets in 5 months for Christmas presents this year. It is a good 'distraction' and I really love doing it. Plus it is such a joy to give a handmade gift to another. I like going to the movies. I am mostly into thrillers, dramas, and mysteries. I LOVE to read. I like just about anything but I tend to read more sci-fi. I always have a book on me.
I am thinking of going back to school to further my education. I have an associates degree in Medical Administration so I am thinking of getting a Bachelor or getting another associates in Accounting or medical billing. I am trying to think of a job I can do from home.
I have a big family, seven of us kids. Most of us are pretty close. They don't understand my situation but my dad is my hero. He has helped me out so much! And I love that my daughter has him in her life as a male figure since her father isn't in the picture.

Anyway, I guess if you want to know more you can ask. I would love to tell you and get to know you better too. We are all connected and so I thought we should know eachother a little better.

Always remember that you are strong!
Angelina

Unfortunately, many of us have legal matters directly related to our health, and so it's not advised to divulge lots of easily identifiable personal info online. You'll still likely get lots of responses, I just thought I'd mention it.

There is a thread at the top of the forum called Our Stories & Introductions. It is several pages long, lots of information.

You can also learn about people by just reading their posts on the different threads.

Hope this helps.

I was just trying to make a place where we could talk about happy things in our lives. I guess I was wrong. It wasn't meant to get people in trouble or try to find out about people. It just seems like all we have to do in our lives when you have this disease is talk about how crappy it is, so I wanted to talk about the good things. To take joy in our lives, to express ourselves in anyway you wanted to other than the fact that I have CRPS and my life is all about pain. I am so sorry, it won't happen again. Please forgive me.

I love a good movie, especially if I've seen it before and really liked it. Mostly I play video games and tend my garden to help keep my mind occupied. Before crps spread significantly I was a big fan of sports, alcohol, travelling and camping. I enjoy looking after my cats and dogs and being in southern arizona we get the best sunsets, anywhere.

A good movie can really brighten your mood right? I can watch a movie I like over and over, some people think I am weird..lol I like video games too, well i have only really played one, Final Fantasy. I love that game. I try to garden, but I am not really good at it and now that I am in pain it is hard to do. But my daughter and I still try. Sunsets are so beautiful! They are so peacefull to watch. I have never seen one in Arizona, but I do like the ones in Idaho.
I hope you are having an amazing day! Keep focusing on what makes you happy!

I don't think you need to apologize. I figure the intros are kind of specific to our I'll history and I understood you were looking for different info. I talk about more than I'm sure my attorney would be happy with, but I try to be careful about putting lots of identifiable personal info within a post or thread.

There is also the option of sending a friend request to someone you think you might have something in common with, and then perhaps developing an email or phone friendship.

RSD is isolating and life changing. We all understand that.

HI! I hope you all are having as great day! I had changed my username from Emily Anderson to CRPSSongbird (i love singing). As I might have to go through a legal battle soon, and need a more anonymous name hehe. Then I realized you all might not know I'm the same person lol!!! Anyway. I'm still in pain a lot. But am learning to live with it better! Going down to part time at work has help with the pain for the most part I can handle it now. I still have flair-ups that can be horrible but not as often. I'm still going to physical therapy, and am trying Hypno-therapy as well. It doesn't stop the pain but sure help[s me to relax! Which you all know can be 1/2 the battle! I'm only on tramadol for pain, nothing else because of all the horrible reactions ive had with other stuff. I would like to have something a tiny bit stronger but if i can keep ahead of the pain I do ok. Well I hope you all have a WONDERFUL weekend!

I don't think you need to apologize! When I get some time I'll share some stuff about myself.

My name is Shelly. I'm 39 years old. Prior to my RSD and multiple surgeries I was a 911 dispatcher.

I love animals. I am owned by 5 cats (ranging in age from 1 1/2 years old-13 years old), a dog, an aquatic turtle (red eared slider) who I have had for 16 years and a Chinchilla. Friends say I have a zoo...which is why my signature says "zookeeper". My animals are my world and sometimes I don't know what I would do without them. They keep me going when sometimes I rather do nothing. They make me laugh and smile and they are always willing to
hang out and snuggle when the pain is too bad.

I love TV. It is pretty much always on if only for background noise or if I am actually watching it.

I also enjoy reading. Dean Koontz is my favorite author. I also read a lot of animal books about training, behavior and just animal stories.
