Default Numb vs Pain

Hello,
Anyone know why some areas get numb and others have pain? My right foot on and off (more on lately) gets numb feelings; my fingers 4 and 5 of both hands go numb overnight if my arms lay flat on the bed; most other areas have pain. I have this condition whole body. Thanks.

Numbness, pain, burning, tingling, aching are all common symptoms of almost any type of nerve damage conditions, or RSD as well.

Thx songbird; I found this to be interesting in the link from Mayo Clinic:
In some people, signs and symptoms of complex regional pain syndrome go away on their own.
Wonder how often that happens after CRPS pain has gone systemic, like my CRPS. I have never heard of that.
Take care my friend.

Schwartzman had an excellent retrospective case review a couple years ago addressing numerous issues including cure/remission. I am sure it is on this site somewhere!

I have the same problem with areas like my hand being numb and others painful. It was really confusing at first because i would doubt that i was in enough pain to "qualify" as a RSD sufferer. Especially when my whole arm would be numb. I will say though that id rather numb to painful.

Yes mollymoo123 - I have certain areas that get numb. Most get pain!
