I had my first sensory block last week (radial) - one shot into my forearm about 3inches from my wrist - this is the place where my arm has been swollen since last june after I injured it - within 3 hours of the injection my arm turned a deep purple/bluish color and was very cold and only would resolve when I elevated it -also the injection itself did not hurt, but right after I had pinching, burning pain up my entire arm to where my brachial plexus is approximately - and my opposite arm was tingling- nurse confirmed I was not hyperventilating - anyone have similar symptoms post having a sensory block - it has been a week and my arm if not elevated still is turning a darker red (but not as severe as after the injection) and is cold - talked to both neuro and anthesiologist and neither can explain - thanks

I would call my doctor ASAP!! That doesn't sound right. I've never had one, but I don;t think it's supposed to make it worse.

I talked to both Neurologist and the doc that did the injection and they act like there is no way that this happended - my sister who took me, as well as my husband and adult son also saw it - The shot was last Thursday - pain until sunday and color change if arm was not elevated - pain free Monday and Tuesday which was wonderful but today severe pain and numbness and if my arm is at my side it changes color again - but not as severe - cannot get into neurologist until May for follow-up and they just want me to wait to see if it resolves - very frustrated -

If it is getting worse and more painful, try to get into them or another doctor. Maybe it isn't really harmful, but it could be. I would try to see SOMEONE when your arm is like that. A procedure like that shouldn't make it WORSE. I am not an expert, but it doesn't sound normal to me. Try looking online to see if that is a normal reaction or not. If you find it's some sort of bad reaction or something INSIST that the doctor see you, or find someone who will. We all have enough to deal with , without the added stress of something like that. And of course they would say it's impossible, specialist are infallible aren't they?? lol No they aren't and (if this is the case) things can go wrong. If you continue to have increased pain or symptoms I would make a stink until someone saw me. If you can get into you PCP maybe they could call the neurologist and tell them you need to be seen. Sometimes the word of another doctor can persuade them. I'm sory to hear your going through this as well
