Default Dr Schwartzman retiring

I just got a letter from schwartzmans office and it said he is retiring, I had appt. with him in 2015 but he gave his practice to another doctor who was trained by him so iam hoping he is as good as schwartzman I know he has trained some great doctors a I have met a few through my travels. I just thank schwartzman for all his help wit RSD and all the research he has done with treatments.

I know he has helped people so don't mean this as rude but there is something very wrong with having a 2 year waitlist to me and now the people who have been waiting to see him for a year or two are not going to be seen by him because he is retiring. If I had been waiting that long and was told now I would not be seen by him I would be so upset. Out of curiosity when did they say he is retiring?
I hope you get relief from his replacement of course.

I'm so sorry for your situation. I asked my pain mgt. Dr. today about the Ketamine injections and your Dr. Schwartzman is the only one SHE is aware of. I tried to ask for you but sorry, no help so I hope his replacement will indeed pick up where Schwartzman left off for your sake.
Thinking about you, I know your pain, please keep your spirits up and keep the hope!

There are several doctors all over the world who do ketamine injections. My belief is many do because of Dr. Schwartzman's treatment and research. I'd like to know why he is retiring. Could be health issues.

My letter says he will be retiring in late june. I know there are going to be alot of disapointed RSD patients who have been waiting for so long. I wasnt seeing him for ketamine as Iam already doing that I just wanted to see if he any other ideas especially now that I am dealing with sarcoid also so when one flare so does the other. The doctor taking over is Dr Enrique AradillasI guess he did his schooling whith schwartzman then went to penn state and then came back and was working with schwartzman. I was just hoping for another opinion just incase he had better ideas so am hoping this other dr will be good. A few years ago I went to cleveland clinic for a flare and one of the residents had been trained by schwartzman and he was really good.

I got my letter 2 weeks ago that he was retiring in late june. I honestly wish they would have let there paitents know sooner, other wise i would have tried other options by now. Ive been on the waiting list for 2yrs now and have an appt for 2015. I dont know what to do because nobody around my area does IVIG or ketamine, so im looking at surrounding states to see if i can find anybody sooner then 2 more years. Somebody told me theres somebody in DC but I cannot remember, and honestly im not looking for somebody thats very conservative. Dr S and a few others decided to push some boundries to help RSD paitents.

My wife had ketamine treatment at GW hospital in DC by Dr. Chin. If I were you I'd look at GW but keep that appointment with Schwartzman's crew. My belief is that they are much better dealing with RSD than most pain clinics in the world. That way you've got two things working for you.

My appt. too is for 2015 I will still keep it just incase I do need it by that time. I am waiting to see a doctor in august to see if he would try the IVIG treatment not just for my RSD but for my sarcoid also. Hopfully we will hear reviews from people that have seen the new doctor and know if he is worth the wait or not. Iam sure there has to be collegues of his that are good with RSD also as with all the patients he must get help some how. I do too wish the notice was sooner unless he is retiring for a reason that isnt being given. For all the help he has given to the patients he has helped though I hope he has a good retirment and that his student know they have learned from the best.

I'm going to have ketamine with either Dr Kirpatrick who has worked with Dr S and also has the RSD institute where he does many of the procedures. He has you tube videos of patients actually going through it. If not him I may see Dr Leverone who also has done ketamine for many patients. I have heard Dr Getson and Dr Richman as well are very good
