Leaving me with limited use of the arm and hand, nerve damage and RSD. No one would take the case :( They have to prove a breach in standard of care. IMO because it wouldn't be an easy settlement they didn't want to deal with it. Who cares that he disabled me and ruined my life!!

I found an attorney after being turned down by dozens. But all he did was hold it until 2 weeks to the statute of limitations. Then try and find another attorney with 2 weeks left. I realized you cant sue

Finding a doctor was even more daunting! Soon as they realized what had happened...would get the letter :(

Yup....Allen's right. Same happened to me. My surgery, I believe, was well below the standard of care. Other surgeon/friends agreed. There were identifiable acts of commission and omission. The problem was that I couldn't find a doc willing to act as my expert and go toe-to-toe with the surgeon, once they found out who it was. The contestable argument was "even perfect surgeries can result in RSD/CRPS for no reason." They just don't eat their own...

Mine started in my right great toe after falling down a flight of stairs. I initially was diagnosed with turf toe and bone spurs. My RSD started after I opted to have the bone spurs removed. It as since spread to my left foot and other areas of the body. There are days when my husband can't touch the entire right side of my body from toe to shoulder. I am now disabled due to the amount of pain I am constantly in. Sorry no lefty mine started on the right.

Mine started after a major stroke in the left side of my brain paralyzingly the right side of my body. Initial symptoms allodynia like scalpels after six weeks of paralysis, hand-shoulder syndrome limiting OT progress. Hand shiny, bluish red, swollen with flaming pain. Then it attacked my right foot after surgery.

RSD starting point curiosity of left vs right

Hi all, I haven't been on in quite a while.
I also started with left foot/lower limb RSD after a PT manipulation on my pelvis. Two visits to this person changed my life. Doc sent me to PT for a tight muscle in my thigh-PT disagreed & treated me for a rotated pelvis and 'displaced' tail bone. I couldn't walk after 2nd visit, subsequent CT scan showed my tail bone was not displaced at all. Spread to right foot, now up to right arm, BP irregular and blurred vision. End of story? Or just the beginning. I just pray for us all and try to hold on to my faith. I don't think I realized how much I need a support group-trying on my own hasn't worked out so well...:grouphug:
