Try to keep all medication info private, don't share that info with anyone but closest & trusted friends/family.
Even then it may slip out and others will know.

Yeah, I don't think it was family - these family members have been around us a lot before without problems. I bet you're right - someone in the family innocently mentioned my chronic pain problem to someone at the party, probably to explain why I had to rest for awhile, and then that person figured out that I probably had pain meds and decided to check it out. Really awful

I got it all squared away. I have a new prescription now I just don't think my insurance will pay for it, so I don't know how I am going to fill it. I am hoping my family will help me out. I do have a safe that I keep them locked up in and then lock the safe up in a wooden chest also. I also lock my purse up in the chest too. It just causes so much stress to have to deal with this.

I am so sorry for what happened to you, I so no how you feel. I have a drug addict brother and he has stollen so many of my meds I cant believe it and I put combination lo9cks but got through them, locked them in a closet but he unscrewed the lock, I then got a safe with a number lock and a key lock on it but he pick that too. I am pulling my hair out and ending up in the ER in flares because of lack of meds. I have tried calling the police but they said cause he lives in the house its not stealing. So I carry a huge bag around me with a lock on that. But I told my mom that if he isnt gone by the end of this month I will find my own home, even though I need so much help with my full body RSD, sarcoid in my lungs and liver, have seizers, fall alot. and am in the ER nearly once a month but my moms like I just cant kick him out. But I just cant live in a place where I have live being paranoid.

If this happens once, shame on them. If it happens twice, shame on me. What I mean is that stealing narcotics is illegal. If this happens again, I'd consider calling the police and telling them what happened. They may be able to help you figure out who has done this and bring them to consequences. This should also help cover you if you need more medication prior to refill time. You shouldn't have to suffer b/c someone is stealing from you.

Good that you have it under lock and key. This is what I do without fail.
Now if I have a repair person in the house, or some company, I don't have to worry. Glad you could get another script. Hope your family with help with the cost. Sometimes the company that makes the drug will have a program to help. Your doctor may be able to tell you where you can get help with payment. ginnie |
