Question Chat rooms

Here I go again, lol. I guess most of us n00bs have a lot of questions, though.

I have yet to see even one person in the chat rooms, and was wondering why? We pain patients, especially, tend to be up in the middle of the night, in pain, with no one to talk to. (Michael always tells me to wake him up when it's really bad, but that's not gonna happen.) I think hanging out together in the chat area would be a hoot! I was a member of another forum group a few years back, and we spent a great deal of our time in the chat.

I am going to jump right in with both feet, no matter how much it hurts, lol... I will be in chat tonight, the Lounge area, around this same time. That'll be 1 a.m. Thursday, PST. I sure hope to "see" some of you there! If that's a bad time for most of you, then I'd be happy to join you there any time you like, just let me know.

Hi there!

Not much for the chat, are we, LOL...but sometimes we manage it. I can't get it working properly on my computer - and I type slowly...

But you can drop in at Social Chat on this forum:
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forumdisplay.php?f=35
and look for the Night Owls thread - there's usually someone in there no matter what time! And very nice people they are too.

(BTW, I'm afraid I have trouble reading your small green type - meds causing blurry vision, a problem for many of us, plus old age )

all the best

hi

it seems to take somebody actually logging into the chatroom for more to follow. don't give up. we have had some LONGGGGGGGG into the weee hour chats.

post here before you go in. it will bump this thread up and people will see that you are in chat. btw...if people are using another "theme" besides the default one., they can't see that anyone is in the chatrooms unless they log in.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the "bumping" tip, I will certainly do that! Artist, I am sorry about the type... I have enlarged it one size for this post, let's see how it looks now. But as an artist, though, lol... I'm sure you can understand it that I just hate the default font.

I'm in chat now, procrastinating! As it's only me it means I have to attempt to do my stats and I can't do it because my brain is too dead.

So, come and SAVE ME from the dreaded stats!!!!!!!!!! (hey, will even allow you to try and come up with a new version of "My dog ate it" when the lecturer asks for it in!)

Well, I think I figgered it out, lol! I'll be in the lounge if anyone is still online. I have changed themes in chat, and then heard a rumor that other folks might not be able to see that I am in the room. If I could figure out how to change it back, I would, lol. Please come on in and check, maybe I am just invisible!

Hi Rogue,

(Thanks for making the type bigger! I can read you, yay!)

Me too. The problem I have with it is that the systems on my 2 machines are too old. My mac I know needs updating, no chance there, but I can nearly get it on my Windows 98 SE11 machine with Firefox.

Problem there is that it all goes fine until I'm actually trying to chat, get half way through a sentence - and then it stops receiving and/or sending. Kind of patchy reception. I have to quit without even saying goodbye - I hate that!

Anyone else using Windows 98SE11/ Mozilla Firefox newest edition for that sytem - if you can get the chat to work OK, what flash version do you use? I've updated it to whatever it says is the latest...but it still doesn't do it properly, so any ideas anyone?

all the best
