O.K. so has anyone had "Lidocaine Injections"?? Dr. says it is done outpatient at hospital with IV.
How about Supraclavicular nerve block? I had this done to numb my entire arm Pre surgery (cause for CRPS) to repair broken wrist. Don't know why they did it though because I was given general anesthesia as well. She (Dr.) says I would go to P.T. immediately so they could move my arm & hand alot without any feeling. I'm afraid the pain would be unbearable when the block wore off. She scheduled me for this but now I'm very afraid it will set me back. Initially my hand, wrist and fingers would not move at all. Now after 8 mo. of meds., 13 nerve blocks, SCS trial and 60 physical therapy visits I have partial movement, but I still cannot make a complete fist to grab things, my fingers won't straighten and wrist won't rotate. I asked her about considering some other therapies: Ketamine "no" Botox "not really". Very low dose Naltrexone "never heard of that". So here I am with more dilemnas. I can feel an emotional roller coaster coming on. |

I had a Lidocaine infusion. I felt no difference from it but had no side effects either. It was an iv infusion and the nurse monitored me for the whole time. I cant recall how long it was. I think though I have read of someone getting a benefit cause we are all different.
Though not what you are talking about but one doctor suggested getting a tunneled epidural catheter and then doing physical therapy and like you I worried when the med stopped working I would be in delayed pain. Usually ketamine is suggested only by doctors who do it. So if you are interested in that you may want to look up a doctor who deals with RSD and does ketamine. Good luck and I understand the mental impact these decisions plus the pain have. |
