I have had rsd for just about 5 years and I don't want to hold me back too much.
Would you suggest not getting a tattoo? Do you guys think it would inflame or spread, or would I be fine?
If you were my daughter I would BEG you not to get it. Chances are it could be fine but it's a chance I would NOT take. If it causes a spread, it could cause you years of regret and then there would not be happy thoughts of the artwork.
I would either take that money and put in savings or maybe get a custom piece of jewelry with the saying engraved.

Just to follow up...I got some work done on my thigh tattoo yesterday. Oh man did it hurt, but she was working right on a nerve when she started. Once she moved to a different area it was better. She worked on my for about 90 min but we took quite a few breaks so I could move around. I think it helped that she had a space heater right on us. I think it also helped that she is a friend and we could actually chat during this time. There was some guy hanging out trying to get a job in her shop, he kept me a bit distracted as did another employee who was just watching us.

Area is swollen and red today, but not any more then I would expect without the CRPS. I kind of went in with this "it's going to hurt no matter what, I'm going to hurt, so who cares" attitude. Ate right before and after to keep my body in check.

I only got her clothing (robe/nighty thing), shoes and lips colored yesterday. Next is the body and hair. Right now she's just skin colored, she's been zombiefied, purple robe, green skin, etc.
