From what you are saying, it does sound a lot like CRPS. If you live in IL and can travel to the city. Dr. Lubenow at Rush Medical Center is one of the top Pain specialist for CRPS. My daughter who has had CRPS since she was 16 (she is now 20) has sees him. He has been wonderful and will try his best to get this into remission. Another treatment to consider is a children's rehab program, Boston's PPRC (my daughter did) and CHOP in Philly are just a couple of but there are more. I know RIC in Chicago has one, my daughter is the half day program and I would NOT recommend that if you decide to do RIC make sure she does the full day program. This is a monster to have to deal with and I know the heartache and fear you are going through, I am so sorry. if you need someone to talk to please pm me and I will give you my number. Tell you daughter she has to keep moving, Pool therapy is good and start to see a PT who is knowledgeable in treating RSD. Trying some of the nerve meds are a good idea. The sooner they know it's CRPS and gets treatment the better. My daughter's injury (cheerleading) happen August '08 and she was not diagnosed until Feb '12. It has been a long journey. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your daughter.
