Hi,
Doctor's dont know everything. You know your body better then anyone. I know you don't want it to be RSD but if you think it has traveled then they should treat it now and not wait. Mine traveled and I had 2 unnecessary back surgeries because of it. My doc didn't believe me when I said it traveled. Originally it was in both feet. The left foot pain went away with a Spinal Cord Stimulator but the pain in my right foot traveled up my leg and into my butt of all places. Sometimes my left foot hurts but it's only for a short period of time maybe half an hour or so. It freaks me out so I know how you feel. It took 6 yrs for a doc to suggest an anti-seizure medication which made a HUGH deal in the pain reduction. I have to stay off my feet including driving as much as I can but at least the pain is decreased. I hope you feel better soon! Heather

Hi Jeff, I've had rsd in my right wrist for almost three years. During that time it has traveled to my right hand and shoulder and left wrist and shoulder. It has also traveled down my right leg and foot and to my left foot.
Just recently my feet have been swelling and are on fire alot. Not all the time, though that may be because the pain meds I'm taking are numbing the burn. I got my feet xrayed and they found a bone spur in my left heel. I have to see a podiatrist about it. I am going to get a bone scan too. I'm sorry yours is spreading and burning too. It's very scary and painful but I have found that the nuerontin and percocet that my pm dr prescribed to me help numb the pain. They are hard on my stomach though You may want to ask you pm dr what they may think will help. I'm also trying to loose weight and exercise a little. I hope you feel better soon. I know it's hard sometimes, but I'm hoping the pain will subside for you. I will pray that it does. Take Care. From your friend, Renee.

I also have pain in both feet The spreading got so bad that I use a wheelchair to get around. I also have difficulties from degenerative cerebral atrophy which affects my motor skills.
This is a great place to vent and not feel alone...

Hi there
Ditto on the both feet thing, it sucks so much... Mine started in my left knee and then my left foot, then my right foot got involved too. Some evenings that fire-ant burn starts so quickly, I literally have to tear off any footwear and my socks and elevate my feet before they actually burst into flames I've had more than my share of funny looks from folk if it happens when I'm out anywhere!!! I tend not to go out in the evenings because of it. It's the elevate thing, or sit in tears. Hmm. Choices, choices I was also in a wheelchair for about 18 months, but I'm out of that for now thank goodness and getting on sort of ok. Keep going with the walking and physio, and don't be tempted by that cool kitchen floor no matter how much its cold slabs call to you! I did that for a bit, and it definitely did NOT help in the long term. You live and learn. Lukewarm Epsom salt (unperfumed) foot baths (2-3 tablespoons in a plastic tub lol) really help me when they are very bad. It still hurts, but takes the edge off and the burn fades a bit quicker. Good luck on this one. Both feet is definitely not the finest CRPS location combo! Have a better day tomorrow. Bram.

Mine started in my left hand/forearm. It is now the whole limb. I'm also having issues with both feet. The pain and burning is horrible. I've actually had to crawl/slide down my stairs.
Are you taking anything for the depression? I take Cymbalta for both the nerve pain and it helps with the depression. I hope your scan went OK today.

I get the forgetful spots all the time lol, one of the many perks of CRPS it's cracking when it happens in the middle of teaching... I find if I just laugh it off people accept it better than if I let it get me down. Depends on the person though - some folk are miseries and take anybody forgetting something they said as a personal insult!! It's really difficult when it's a work thing. Do they know about your CRPS and that you are on pain meds?
Take care, and try not to beat yourself up about this kind of thing - its not your fault, and you are doing the best you can... That's all anyone should ask of another person Bram.
