Default RSD Spread after head injury

A few weeks ago I fell, hit my head and got a concussion. My CRPS had been in my hand/arm and into my shoulder/back. Since I hit my head my abdomen started swelling. Now I have pain and swelling in my abdomen, and no reason for it.

I've had a bunch of blood work done, ultra sound of my liver and gallbladder, and a CT with contrast. Everything is working fine, and I have no infection. But still....pain and swelling.

Is there anything I can do? The doctors say I am fine, but I don't have one that knows about CRPS. I don't know how I can keep going like this. My body is just giving up on me, and I don't know how to survive.

Please help.

Hi there

That sounds like a nasty concussion, and I'm sorry you've had such a weird and horrible reaction to it. I'd never have thought a concussion would lead to problems in your abdomen, but then CRPS is such a strange and random beast...

I'm sorry I can't help in any way, but please don't give up hope. Is there any chance you can find a doctor who does understand CRPS? With this new development, if you write to a few (even ones far away) they might be interested enough to have a look at your case and maybe suggest something. It does no harm to ask, they can always say no.

Ty to relax whenever you can (easier said than done, I know, sorry), as relaxing some of the sheer stress of being in pain will help your poor body cope a little better. Try meditation with some nice relaxing sounds and smells. Sometimes the simple little things can help a lot

Hang in there. I'll be thinking of you.

Bram

Sorry to hear about your fall. The only symptom I have is the burning pain I don't have the other things like swelling so I can't really atest to that part. But.....The key to helping you might be to have a doctor (pain doctor or other type of doctor) that can treat CRPS. The only reason your doctor says "your fine" is because he doesn't know how to help. In their eyes if they see nothing on the tests then nothings wrong with you. You know that's not true and convincing them otherwise is hard I would try to find a specialist that can help.

Sorry your having a hard time.......Good luck to you!!!!!
Heather

I fell and got a concussion and since then have had 3 fingers on my left hand are numb. I have problems stacking up so. My bladder has IC, I have stomach issues as well. RSD seems to just wander all over one's body at will and settle. I hope you get it figured out soon. It's no fun!!
