But AzDi, you're all the more valued for being so rare and special

I'd do some very gentle movements for now just to keep it moving, and take 500mg Vitamin C every day to help prevent spread....just in case

Take care guys,

Bram.
it was my thought too..But I do get scared..Enough is enough..Thank you..Good luck and best wishes

Mine started in my left hand and forearm after 3 surgeries. I haven't been able to totally straighten the fingers since without great thought. I seriously stare at them. When I get them straight they will curl back down. I have times where the hand will cramp the fingers down. It is horribly painful and I have to force them up with my other hand.

For the last couple months I've been having problems with the ring finger on my right hand. It is much like you described. It feels like there is a rubber band pulling it when I bend it and it is almost like a clicking into that position. I asked my Rheumatologist about it on Friday (I have RA as well). He suggested wearing gloves when I will be doîng any repetitive tasks or ones putting stress on the joint.

Az-Di I use a tablet versus my laptop with a key board. It helps to have the predictive text and doesn't flare my bad tendinitis like 1 handed keyboard typing does. I've also used the talk to text option.

Me too on the tablet v laptop fbodgirl, it's definitely easier...

I have problems with the pads of my fingers at times too. I'm looking at trying to find some thin gloves with a decent pad that I can use for my cello - pressing on the strings is getting rough but I can't bear to stop. I might have to get all creative and put some felt into the ends or something.

That soft putty is a good idea AzDi, someone mentioned it to me ages ago but I completely forgot about it! Right, back on the web search

Have a good day if you can everyone.

Bram.

Default Therapy Putty

I found a place with therapy putty. AliMed® Color-Coded Therapy Putty is the name. Its $2.75 per color. A lot cheaper than I thought it would be. I use the yellow. It comes in different strengths/colors. The yellow is perfect for me. I also found a hot wax machine at walmart and amazon for about $30.00. I dip my hand in it in therapy about 5 times dries quick. She then wraps my hand in a walmart bag them a towel to hold the heat longer. After a few mins. she has me take the wax off my hand and squeeze it like I do the putty. About 10-15 times If you own your own machine/slow cooker you can reuse the same wax over and over. Just add back to pot after you squeeze it a few mins. I am going to try a slow cooker with a slower cooker liner ( can find them by wax paper /storage bags ect. section) so when I need to replace it , will be easy cleanup. also can remove when cooled to use to cook food with a new liner. Then just place the bag with wax back in when needed.Love them. I use them whenever I cook roast ect. Make sure the temp is between 115-125 or else you can burn your hand. Just let cool a few mins until it is the right temp if hotter than that. You can buy the paraffin in the home canning section cheap and can also add 1 cup of mineral oil to it. How long after getting rsd did it disfigure? I know we all progress at different times. but would love to know how long it took yours. I was wondering if that wax machine could help your bad hand get back to normal, because the wax treatments help with blood circulation. I have heard of them getting better after that happens then use the putty therapy. Hope this helps. You have been a big help to me already. A nerf or stress ball would be good to squeeze until you get your putty
