I thank God for this medication, as it is helping me so much!! (more than the vicidin) I am getting off all pain medication's except the neurotin. Also, thanks for the info on the emsome salts!! works really well, so does the heating pad!! I will await for your reply! thanks all! Love, Desi P.S. My husband and I are in the process of adopting(we have had legal custody of a little girl since she was 2 months old) she is now 7 yrs. old. and I feel so guilty that my hubby has to get up in the mornings with her to get her off to school, and here, I am sleeping away!!I am 52 and my husband is 57 and we have two sons, married and 3 grand kids.Love, Desi

hi desi,
i take 400mg three times a day and i was tired at the beginning but got over it pretty quickly. make sure you space it out well ... and yes the epson salts and the heat are great.
good luck to you with it all.
i have a 14 year old grandson living with me and my husband gets him off in the mornings too. don't feel guilty, you can only do what you can do ... so just love them after school, that is what i do! joan

Neurontin is horrible to start with. We have all been there. But for many people the side effects at the beginning are worth it in the end - as Desi says, it is really helping her.

Either half you dose so you can titrate upwards slower or unfortunatly, accept that for next week to 10 days you are going to feel rubbish. We do all know what it's like begin with.

Sending huge hugs to both of you. I tend to consider with drugs like gabapentin that as they make you so tired to start with it means your catching up on all the pain missed sleep. (Yes, I know that's rubbish but hey, it makes me feel better about sleepiness and new meds!).

Love

It just made me sleepy at first, not tired. It lasted only a few days and then all the side effects went away except that it has a subtle effect on the way I think. I don't seem to make connections between related things and don't spot coincidences as readily.

I recently went back on it and it makes me sleepy often in the larger doses now but they are brief and I can shake it off with effort.
