Default Eyes burning had permanant eyeline prior to RSD

I just realized today that where my eyes burn seems to be where I had permanent eyeliner (tattooed) done a few years back. That is so odd. Everyone at work had it done and it looked so good, so I did too. I had fewer problems than and of them as far as swelling. I only developed RSD 4 months ago after carpel tunnel surgery. My eyes have been burning a couple of months. It feels like it is exactly where the tattooed eyeliner is. I have never had any other tattoos so is that common where your skin is tattooed? It just seems odd to me. I hope it is not spread especially being my eyes.

It could be medications adding to the eye burn. My eyes burn, and I have blurry vision that is much more noticeable after taking certain medications. I also notice that sound, light and noise are difficult to handle with CRPS (but I also have a TBI so that might make it worse) so eye strain would seem logical. Do you get the burn all day or toward mid to late day? Keeping a journal really helps pinpoint many things that might not make sense.. especially when you notice new symptoms or side affects.

Wow! I'm glad I have no tats but you bring up an interesting subject! Did you have the RSD before the tats?

If there is any genetic component to these diseases, you would think a certain percentage of tattooed people would have gotten RSD from the procedures. Has anyone researched that?

Maybe there should be a Sticky "If you have RSD do not get tattooed or body piercings" OMG!

For whatever it's worth, I have a 30 year old tattoo on my left arm near my shoulder and I have no symptoms there. My left hand and forearm present my worst symptoms and it looks like I'm spreading to my right hand and both feet up to my knees but still no symptoms where my tattoo is or even around it. - although I am having trouble keeping my left shoulder in the proper position. But still, no pain, temp changes or other symptoms.

I'd still be inclined to make some connections between the 2 in your case and check out all possibilities just like you're doing.
