Default Totally off topic... but Whoa! Check this out!

So.. yeah, this happened here today. Just a couple of hours ago. I thought it might be good for a moments worth of distraction. We had a little snow in Denver today.. and ...

The headline:

1 killed in 104-car pileup on I-25
http://www.9news.com/rss/story.aspx?storyid=379401

Crazy! This is why I drive a tank. Okay it's not really a tank, but it seems like one in terms of what it costs to fill it up and how solid it feels while driving it. I drive a 4WD Durango. I feel safer in it than most cars. I don't think I could handle a car accident at this point. That would most likely throw me over the edge (any further major injury). The risk can be high when the roads are slick. Of course I try and stay off of them, but there's always the chance I will have to pick my daughter up from school or something.

Anyway... I thought this was nuts! We deal with all kinds of bad weather here, so not sure why that today was the day they decided to ice skate on the interstate.

BTW- I do hate that someone lost their life today in this mess. I know their family must be heartbroken. Twenty more hospitalized. Jeez

Default terrible

I used to drive on the I 25 for a bit back in the 1980's back n forth from Denver to Boulder. I remember the road then used to have black ice and be hazardous but this is beyond awful. I used to drive a little white passat, loved it. Def not 4wd like we have nowadays. Still, I always felt safe in it.

Passat's are good cars. After looking at these images, I'm not sure it would have mattered what you were driving. wow! some impressive photo's. http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news...in-i-25-pileup
Sooooo glad I wasn't on the interstate today. Perhaps I am driving around with a false sense of security... an illusion that I am safe.
