Default Can't work at all anymore, making life changes

I'm almost two months post-op for my pain pump, with Prialt, and it's been great. I do have some forgetfulness but it's WAAAAAY better then pain.

A few weeks back I was asked to go part time. I kept encountering hostility coming from one of my bosses. I came into work last week, my access to our system had been blocked, and I assumed they wanted to fire me. They said no, that it was a tech glitch, but it started this whole meltdown and I found out what they really think of me. I told them that I'd go on full time disability.

Basically, my brain isn't in the game anymore. I forget, take too long to do things and keep making costly mistakes. So today is my last day of work, I just have to go in for a bit to show a tech guy how to do something.

I'm pretty darn depressed, but legitimately (not chemically). My brother in law died a couple weeks ago and the stress was one of things that caused my meltdown. My boss made all these horrible comments, one of which was why was I so upset that he died. Sure, he was a loser, but still my sister's husband and my neices' dad. That was kind of my last straw with her.

So, I'm going to move closer to my brother, get a bigger house (for the same price I'm paying, he's in a much cheaper area). My sis and her two girls are going to move in. My husband and sister will be the job keepers and I'll do the SAHM thing. I have no idea if it'll work, but she really needs the help and I have a little financial cushion to help out with.

Now I have no idea what I'm going to do, but the fatigue and brain fog are still keeping me down physically.

Default I feel for you

People can be heartless and cruel, tell her you will pray for her as you leave her snide ness behind. Such a brave and caring plan, and it's good to have a plan. There will be rocky times ahead sure, but, isn't everything?

I know it can be disheartening to give up work unwillingly, I did it myself 18 months ago, and the very next day when I would normally be gearing myself up mentally for the grind, instead all I felt was blessed relief, no longer did I have to put on my smiley face and grin through the tears, no more heat packs by the dozen surrounding me and false people looking at me sideways, just relief. It will be hard to begin with as you adjust, just know, we understand how tough today will be for you and we are here for you

Chaos, I'm giving you a big hug here....

Your post is as brave and positive as its possible for someone to be in that situation and I think you're amazing. You are giving it all your best shot, making decisions and going for the best you can out of a very harsh hand of cards you've been dealt.

I have no doubt that your family are very lucky to have you helping them out, and I wish you all the very very best with your move and the next phase in your life. You'll do fine because of the kind of person you are

Well done. I'm not trying to be patronising or condescending or anything else like that - I honestly think you have the right attitude to all this. Anybody would feel down after everything that's happened, but you are finding your way through. That takes some guts and you have my respect and admiration every day of the week, and twice on Sundays

Take good care of yourself and keep going. Things will sort out one way or another, and I'm sure your new life will be as challenging and rewarding as anything you've done so far.

Bram.

Default I'm sorry your job situation is what it is

I lost my brother in law last week. Completely unexpected and it sent me reeling, so I understand how that works. Hope things get better for you and your family. Hang in there.

Don't know if they have it where you are but over here what they have done to you is called constructive dismissal and you could take them for a lot of money.
