Question Hey all

Hello Everyone, I hope you all are doing well & having a wonderful day/night. I'm sorry I've not been on the past 2 weeks much but between being out of town, helping out friends, helping out @ home & everything in between took alot out of me I slept for a full 24 hour period execpt to get up for a bathroom break & get a drink I dont know the last time I slept for more than a few hours let alone a full 24 my body just shut down ya know. Of course I did pay the price aside from the much needed sleep I had both hands & both feet swell up on me for a full week which is not just a little painful but annoying as well. Anytime I am either in the sitting position or on my feet for any length of time I swell which is so frustrating but thats life right, just one of the lovely joys of this dreadful condition I attached pix of the swelling, does anyone else have this problem??. Well I hope you all are having a beautiful day!Hey all-hand-jpeg

Hi Heidi, I'm so sorry you are suffering so much. The swelling you have looks very painful. I will pray that you will feel better soon. Try to get some rest my friend. With love, Renee.

Thanks so much Renee, I am good now as far as the swelling goes it took a little over a week but that is partly my fault because I was not able to stay off my feet & have them up long enough to get swelling down before I had to be on them all over again & I kinda over did it so it all caught up as I expected it to and I just took a 24 hour nap lol. I still cant believe I slept so long it's rare I sleep 4hrs straight let alone an entire 24 guess I needed it tho. Glad your doing better to since surgery & everything went smooth take it easy thinking of you all hope your all having sweet dreams & happy days

I get the swelling too if I am immobilized for too long a period. I am definitely a "textbook" case (ha...like there is such a thing) when it comes to the move it or lost it thing. I am definitely much worse if I don't spend a lot of time moving around. Even when I sit and "rest"...I have to keep my hands and feet moving periodically to prevent a flare up.

Take care and I hope you feel better soon.

Hey Heidi,
I can sorta relate. My fingers are subject to swell so much at times that I gave up on my rings.(I got a great collection of hand made silver and turquios.)
Also can only wear glog type shoes. A bummer for sure...

Yup. My hand, wrist and forearm do swell up like that from time to time. For me, it is usually when I have bumped my hand or have just done too much.

I can't believe you managed to sleep for that long! You really must have needed it. It is never easy for any of us to sleep, is it?

I'm glad your swelling has gone down a bit for now. I hope you are getting back to normal after all your activity lately.

Take care.

Hi Heidi,

Yep, I am yet another with swelling in my hands...and the other symptoms that go with. So so sorry that you are suffering now with that. Sometimes I find that too much exercise can aggravate it, and I definitely keep affected extremeties elevated As Much As Possible...(can I just say AMAP?...) I'm back to 2 operating fingers, so shortcuts help.

Be good to yourself, Heidi...and we'll be praying for less pain ASAP!

Hana

Man the swelling really sucks!! I hope you get to get some much needed sleep. I think that is something that hurts us almost as bad as the RSD does. It is hard to feel good when there is no sleep

Hello again Heidi, I also got/get the swelling . My hands always swell, my left hand takes a size 15 and the right is 13 and like Russell I have some beautiful turquoise rings laying in a box. My left leg would swell up very bad but they called it water retention and I asked, " why don't I have retention in both legs"? The answer was . I will order you some fluid pills. ha ha . Typing makes my hands burn more but I like this site. I hope your swelling goes down without discomfort and you get sleep tonight Heidi. Gentle hugs and we are pulling and praying for you. Later Gator
