The last few days my vision is blurry at times then goes away.
Is this normal for CRPS or should I worry?

I don't know if this is normal or not for CRPS but, I can tell you that I have the same issues with blurry vision off/on and for me it seems to be a side effect from medications; could this be possible for you?

If it was a side effect how come this is happening now and not when I started my new dose two months ago??

As I understand it from the information given to me by my doctor is that not all side effects present them selves immediately. It takes a while for some medications to build up in the system an thus can cause side effects as the serum levels increase. What I did to determine what was causing my blurry vision was to note when it was occurring in my daily journal, also noting when I took my meds and then it was obvious that within 2 hours of taking the meds or using my bolus dose the vision was impaired. Sometimes I also notice it more in the mornings or if I have been while laying down. My doctor said that this happens because of meds pooling in the body and once we start moving the medications are actually better utilized as our muscles move it throughout the body through compression.

If blurry vision is your only symptom I would note it and discuss it with your doctor at your next appointment. If however, you have slurred speech, increase in headaches, clumsiness, blood pressure issues etc., then I would contact your doctor right away. If it is a side effect, then it may improve over the next few weeks as your body continues to adjust to dosing or new meds. As long as it is not a life threatening or psychotic type side effect then it might be beneficial to allow enough time for the body to adjust. All to often we stop medications because of transient effects before we reach the therapeutic dosage.

I do hope this resolves quickly.. it is so annoying!!

I just got off the phone with my neurologist and she is scheduling me for a CT scan.
She said in my case of an ongoing atrophy of the cerebellum this might be related to that. I'll give you an update afterwards...

I have had blurry vision with my CRPS type2. I have full body RSD CRPS mine started with a severely broken right leg. An eye doctor specialist said it was difficult to treat because RSD can transcient nature. Whether my face is flaring or which side is hurting. One visit he would see issues with my right eye and left was good the next it was reversed. Also some medications can have blurry vision as a side effect...Lyrica caused my vision to blur. Also some medications can cause your blood sugar to rise...esp. some anti-depression drugs or if you are prescribed steroids for flares. All this being said I would check with your doctor and eye doctor. I hope that you are having a low pain day. prayers & gentle hugs

Just got back from doc. had a CT done to see if my brain shrunk anymore. Sad to report it has. My neurologist said the average size of the cerebellum is about the size of a half dollar. Mine is the size of a dime. Thought you should know...Major bummer....

I'm so sorry Russell - what if anything can be done? Is this caused by CRPS or something different entirely? Just curious.
