Default Appreciate This Site

I am thankful that I found this site and that it allows us to express ourselves without treating us like naughty children.

There is another forum that I posted in that absolutely shocked me when I read my post. Someone said (s)he was afraid of getting shots and I answered that it helps to relax when anticipating the prick of a needle. To my amazement the word prick was shown as *****. Huh?!

That word is listed in my dictionary with several definitions and not one of them are vulgar, so why the censorship? Methinks someone needs a better understanding of the English language. I was using the word properly, not in the slang sense.

I thought I was being helpful to someone - instead my answer just looked silly.

With the exception of one person, everyone on every board I have ever visited has been sensitive in regards to the contents in their postings.

Sorry to ramble on here, but seeing those *****s instead in my post really bothered me.

To the Brain Talk moderators: Thank you, thank you, thank you for treating us as thoughtful, mature adults.

Regards, Lil

Default Can I ever relate

I went to another site recently while waiting for BT1 to come back on. It was set up similiar to this one so I decided to join. Well one day I decided to start a poll. The next day the poll had been pulled by a moderator. When I questioned why I was abruptly told we do not allow polls period. And I was told not to bring it up again. Well you all know me. I can't leave a dead snake alone. So I posted the question to the forum asking why and wouldn't you know it. I was kicked off the site! They said I was inciting unruly behaviour. What???? Me???? I laughed my buttocks off!! And than when I questioned the mods they wouldn't talk to me. So Lil I no exactly what you mean. I too appreciate being treated as a adult and not some child. None of us here are trouble makers. The Mods have nothing to worry about. If they do, it will be from someone new who comes along. Thats all. Chin Up!!!!

Mark

There is also a site I went to that blanked out the doseage of any med, like for example if I said I Took Lyrica 50mg twice a day it would be changed to Lyrice twice a day and then I would be scolded! I never went back!

Mark: I remember your poll. I answered the questions you asked and my reply was deleted. I do not care for the restrictions on that site but some of the old forum memebers found that one and still do not know about this one.

I had no idea you were such a rowdy troublemaker. You seemed so mild mannered on the old forum.
