Default Has anyone tried fasting for CRPS?

I am new to CRPS community. Currently self-experimenting with a various medications and therapies. I ran across that fasting is an effective treatment and curious if anyone tried and its results.

Welcome Whatnow,

I know nothing of fasting. Just wanted to say Hi and that you found a good place to be. Sorry for your reason for being here. Many people adhere to an inflammation type diet and avoid processed foods, a sound strategy for health. Some of the sticky threads will have info on that and various supplements. If you find something good let us know. Beating CRPS is about the only reason I would willingly give up food...

I tried fasting but it caused stomach problems with my meds. I had the approval of my doc at the time. I felt great until I felt awful.

Hi whatnow and welcome.
I tend to agree with LIT on this one. The meds I'm taking specifically states to be taken with food. I sometimes take them alone and experience a stomach problems. So read the med info first I guess.

Just to make it clear, I did a combo of the lemon/maple syrup cleanse and then a juice fast. It was in the 3 week range total. The first few days your body needs to adjust and then you start feeling the benefits.

If you are going to attempt a fast 7 days is probably a good trial. Absolutely check with your doc to get clearance first and double check all your meds possible side effects online first.

You could also try a raw diet/juice combo, working out and using a sauna, to try and achieve some of the same results.

--I wouldn't be surprised if I actually caused an ulcer. I believe the main med issue was Cymbalta. It was helping and when I tried retaking it several months later, I immediately had severe stomach pain again.
