Hey Carose!

I was in total agreement with you about people being more like animals, and then I realized my boys are like animals

They are Pigs

I have a beautiful 70 pound husky/sheperd mix. Jake has epilepsy, hemalitic anemia and phemphigus. He has had some major seizures and we almost lost him recently to the anemia. He made a miraculous recovery for which I am very grateful. Last month his medical bills where significantly higher than mine. I even had to get a second opinion for him. Am I being overly concerned? I guess my experience with RSD has taught me to question doctors.
Jake hangs out with me all day. Guards me when I'm sleeping. Let's me know when someone is walking down the sidewalk. Really let's me know when someone is coming to the door. When the anemia hit him hard, it was so sad to see him just laying around and stumbling when he did walk. It's very tough to watch a seizure. My husband was here (fortunately) when he had the last one & had to hold him down for 20 minutes to keep him from banging his head on the tile.
Today, he is fine, full of himself & fun. I like him best this way.

I've got Cinnamon Gold, called by many stupid nicknames. My favorite thing is to call her "Minnie" because it's very ironic. She's a 100-pound yellow labrador retriever, who will turn six years old next month. She's not the brightest, but we love her anyway! And yes, she is the dog in my avatar, asleep with one paw on the remote control (as a puppy, she thought it was her chew toy, and now she sometimes cuddles it while she sleeps).

Ha ha! I have many remote controls, all only partly working because of being chewed by dogs - even the "universal" one, which I thought would be the answer..

I just love our pet avatars. Mark (Wickedgood) rounded us all up a while back and got us to make avatars from our pets...till then we were pretty unadorned. So if you haven't already, give it a go....

all the best!

Actually, Cinn has eaten more than just remote controls! She really likes to eat Kleenex. Once she stole an entire avocado out of the refrigerator and ate the entire thing before my mom found out. She's very strange.

Pets do make everything a little brighter, don't they? Minn is currently looking very cute, sleeping on my bed. I went away for about two days (waterpark), and I think she missed me. It feels nice that she noticed I was gone!

Hi, I have two dogs. Bell , a beautiful , sweet, gentle, loving Mastiff, and Copper a precious little Rat Terrier. I love them both very much. They are both house dogs so they get lots of baths. I let them play outside a lot. I am so thankful God gave us these wonderful creatures to love. See ya

Thanks so much for the laugh!!! Pigs would not have lived in my sons room , his friend across the street from us had a housekeeper that cleaned his room so my son felt like he should have someone clean his room. I told him not in this life time, so he refused to clean his room. A few years ago he moved out and lived with some friends, still would not clean. But a couple of months ago he got his own apartment, and it is spotless-at all times. One night he called me to see what to clean brass with, I wanted to know what he had that was brass that needed cleaning. He had taken the knobs off his dresser and wanted to clean them. At home you couldn't even see he had a dresser for the junk everywhere..go figure!!! Take Care Carose

LOL - I also have a Bijon Frise who is a bit annoying. Her name is Spunky [Spunkalina Bella Lilyfrill because she is pedigreed], which I know is an awfully rude name in England but in the U.S. it is innocuous and just means sprightly, OK?!

Thank you for telling me that eventually she WILL get housetrained, perhaps in only 3 more years. She has stunk up the whole house. She is really a very bad doggie in every respect - not housetrained, disobedient, wilful, mischievous, begs for food at the table, snatches socks then chews them, yaps at squirrels she sees through the window - ARGH. Naturally I love her dearly. She keeps me warm at night in my bed. She always trots around after me, making me feel wanted when my despicable teenage children rudely bellow at me.

Spunky is my first ever pet and I am glad I took the plunge [she is the worst dog in the world and I love her wildly]
