Hi, everyone. I read an article once that said novocaine was a bad idea for dental work, but can't locate it. Any thoughts on this?

Hi Suz,
Lidocaine is the most common anaesthetic used in dental work. Novocaine not as much anymore because of higher allergic reactions. Since lidocaine infusions are give for CRPS it seems like it would be okay. Some people react to the epinephrine mixed in with the lido with increased heart rate and flushing. In those cases they can just inject lido with no epi. I would ask your dental office what they use. Littlepaw Last edited by Littlepaw; 03-27-2015 at 05:16 PM. Reason: Spelling |
