Default Help with BT archives?

A few weeks ago I read a post that offered some suggestions on how to track down archived BT posts using Google.

Problem is: I don't remember where I read it. I was too weak at the time to try it, and too "medicated" to think of saving it for future use. Can someone help me? ...Vic

something like this??

[ finding {cached} old info from BT1
type this into a search engine {google , ect}

site:brain.hastypastry.net

behind .net - add your user name or any topic you want to search the old BT for--

Be sure to click on the cached page link and you can find some of the old info

I checked a few topics - hbot, rsd, etc and it seems like only the newer, after the crash, info is there now -
someone said back at the beginning of NT when this method of finding the cached info was posted - that the info won't be available forever.

Hi Vic,

I think the news on that front is bad, I'm afraid. Any site: or archive: or cache: from BT1 has been overwritten by new posts (post crash) or passed into the great 404 Not Found in the sky. I searched myself when you mentioned this ages ago and had no luck then, the chances are far less now. The Wayback Machine will bring up old Braintalk archives but only of the main Index page. Clicking them won't work, they're basically webshots with no information or links behind them.

I'm sorry to say that I clear out my hard drive regularly (visual art uses huge amounts of space) and on my backup disks I've found nothing so far. Can't believe none of us have copies of your articles!

I'll keep looking on my disks, but don't hold your breath. So....that's why we have been bitching about the fact that BT1 won't restore the archives. They say they are intact, but...there was just *so* much amazing info there, on all forums.

Maybe someone will see this and search their own hard drives. Hope so...

all the best

Vic,
Are you looking for your posts? If so, I can see if I have anything I printed out. Just haven't been up to organizing lately but if that's what you are looking for I will search through my papers to see if I have anything.

Vic,
I just found a paper that I think you wrote titled "Research based model of rsd" I also have 2 posts that you wrote that I had printed out. I was new to RSD at the time & you & other board members helped me out. I saved these. Thank you.
