Default Is this rsd? please help!!

Hello

I don't know what I have . Dr is trying to figure it out but it's going slowly. I've mentioned tos but bc I have symptoms in my legs too he says no. I have extreme burnin pain allover my body including my head. I had two traumas ( electricity and horrible acupuncture) the burning is 24/7 and unbearable. Is this Rsd? How do u get diagnosed? Does anybody else have this? What do u do for relief? Meds? Which ones? Side effects? Effectiveness? Does this get better? If so, how long?

Hi canagirl,
It's hard to say. The thing you need to do is seek out a neurologist that has dealt with RSD/CRPS to really know.
I have full body CRPS and the same burning sensations you have. But that in itself doesn't mean RSD/CRPS for sure. There's lots of varibales to be considerd here.
As far as meds go, everyone is different. I was prescribed a cocktail of Gabapentin, Cymbalta and Amitriptyline which took some experimenting before finding what works.
I still burn and sometimes get heat flashes but that's CRPS for ya.
I sure do hope you find relief...

Hi Canagirl,

Whatever you've got it sounds like no fun. Finding an experienced doctor can make all the difference for sure. Check out the Budapest Criteria for CRPS. It seems like you would need more than burning alone. I don't know about the electrical stimulation treatment you had but IMHO it's hard to imagine what happened to you came from acupuncture! Geez, scary no matter what caused it.

Sorry to hear what you're going through. I sure hope they figure this out and you find relief. I take nortriptyline and it works pretty well for me, still some stinging flare but better controlled. Neurontin and lyrica work well for some as well. Hang in there and don't give up on answers.

there is a recorded case of it starting from a bee sting so anything is possible you need 3 of the 4 main symptoms here.

Golly, I guess anything IS possible. Luckily I've had a great acupuncturist for many years, I'm sure that's not always the case.

Default Is this rsd/ crps PlEASE hELP

Hi

I had repeated deep acupuncture all down my neck, spine, bum , a clap wrists and and calves. Since then I have been in excruciating burning, stinging, theobbing pain. Along with tingling, prickling, twitching and electrical sensations and crushing/ squeezing pain. It's literally taken over every inch I my body. Scalp, eyes, ears, nose, throat, back , chest , arms legs etc.

Every minute of everyday for four months all over all a the same time. I thought it might be neuropathy but MRI bloodwork emg are all normal.

I can't touch, rub, scratch or put pressure anywhere without burning stinging pain. Sitting hurts , lying down hurts wtc.

Drs think I am crazy. Send me to shrink . The only pain med I am on is nortriptyline and it's not doing much if anything.

What is this? What do I do? What treatment? Med?

Does this go away?
