Default Next up...

Ortho appointment went fairly well. He said there is clearly something going on in my knee but does not want to put me through surgery. Also discussed the RSD pain & therapy..
Gave me prescriptions for lidoderm patches & flexeril. So a start, yay!

Appointment with vocational rehab went as expected, I guess. I'm not familiar with the whole process. I waited an hour for my appointment. A very uncomfortable hour. About 30 minutes in to my wait, I moved to the couch they had in the waiting room to put my leg up. Once in the office, my daughter moved an extra chair so I could put my leg up. Not sure how this is going to work. Hoping they can find something I can do at home.

My lidocaine patches aren't covered, so the pharm is faxing doc to switch it to ointment. Pharmacist said it's not as effective...??? I would love to hear from anyone who has experience with both patches and ointment/cream.

Today's visit is with PCP. Fingers crossed.

My patches help somewhat with the nerve related symptoms like : feeling of ants biting my foot, the buzzing, bugs crawling, rain drop sensations, etc. it doesn't make the srnsations stop but it seems like it takes the edge off. The patches don't help with the deep burning crushing pain inside my foot.

I've never had any creams. My wc does cover the patches.

I was a bit exhausted yesterday after my appointment with PCP.

We discussed the gaba + weight gain and that I no longer take it. She said that was good and I have lost 3 pounds since last visit.

She is starting me on prilosec for my nausea issues and advised me to not take as much ibuprofen as I have been.

I don't go back for 2 months unless something else comes up.

Was supposed to have my initial eval for pool therapy today but it somehow got mixed up in the system so it was re-scheduled for June 1st. Yay...

Perhaps they could put you on a list to call if they have a cancellation. Occasionally, you can get in sooner that way.
