Default Face is swelling

I had to have manipulation done to my shoulder about a month ago, and since then I have noticed that the right side of my chest, neck, and face started tingling and burning like my shoulder and arm, but slightly differently. (I had many things happen in a row, and actually looked back throuh pt notes to see when I first started feeling this, it has been getting consistantly worse since the manipulation) If you touch my face a second or so after you pull your finger away it feels like youslapped me. This lasts quite a long time. In addition to this I'm getting weired swelling, I am starting to look like Maleficent, from the move...
My appointment is next week, but I'm not sure there is much they can do? Any ideas?

Thanks and

Hi scuba,
All I can say is it's happened to me too.
The left side of my face is swollen to the point that my glasses leave a dent or crease on my temple area. Also a slight drooping that increases at times of triggers.
I was told by my neurologist is it's a symptom of my CRSP condition.
With no any real explination all I know that it's common in some cases. Sucks don't it?
I wish you luck...

I don't have the RSD condition, but a good friend has been challenged with this for many years, right now she seems to be in a remission.

On the swelling/edema, I will just add, for whatever it's worth, OPC's (pycnogenol, grape seed extract, resveratrol, etc.) can really work on this issue. Personally I've been taking OPC's for 20 yrs soon...and have 2 times when edema set in my foot/ankle and at those times I upped my grape seed ex for a while and got rid of the edema both times....once from BP med and the other from hip replacement mess I've been thru.

Could be that OPC's could help you in general and help with the fluids. OPC's address so much in our bodies, CIRCULATION is huge. Do your research.

Thinking about my friend and she's moved away from my city so I don't see her now, but we talk on phone and email, but she had a puffiness as long as I can remember. I told her about OPC's years ago but she didn't get on them, she always had stomach issues and was forever working on her stomach problems.

My daughter who is 51, has puffiness issues and she's on grape seed ex now for some yrs...her 18 yr old daughter too now.

Disclaimer: If on pharma blood thinner, then can't take both, one or the other....

I've had spread to my jaw, teeth, tongue a few times. I needed stellate ganglion blocks to return the areas back to normal. It took months for the pain to ratchet up, but it was also worse than any other area when it got severe, because it was so painful to eat solid food, to talk, and eventually to even breath.

The last block set my neck off, but Epsom Salt Cream REALLY helped with the swelling, and it only took a few days to get back to normal after I tried it. I also awkwardly put Lidocaine patches on my neck too...

A Ketamine Infusion would certainly be worth trying as well.

Thanks for all the suggestions!! Today the swelling is better but my tongue is feeling really weird and I feel like I have a fat lip... He he I keep looking in mirror to see if I do, but its normal. My tongue feels like I took a chunk out of the entire side, but again I see no damage.
eating has not been fun, your definitely both right Lit and Russell. Caroline, thanks for the ideas, I like anything natural, and am going to look for the grawhen i eed ex, and Lit, I'm going to try and see if I can find the Epsom salt cream also. I hate the fact that I can't put my chin on my palm when sit, which is a habit of mine... .

Thank you all

I get mine from Amazon.

And yes, it does feel like their should be something visible on my tongue when it's flared, but there never is.
