Confused Has anyone had Lyrica make their symptoms worse?

Hey y'all,

I just started on Lyrica last week. I did 50mg for 4 days, 50mg 2x day for 4 days, and today was the second day of 50mg 3x day (the highest I'm currently being titrated to).

Before the Lyrica, with PT and KT tape and NSAIDs, my pain had reduced from the severe burning and hypersensativity to a more dull ache and only minor hypersensitivity. But now the burning and the feelings of ripping/slicing pain when fabric touches it are back . I'm trying to figure out why this flare is happening.

I did drive a lot more than usual this week, and it's been raining out too, but it is also coinciding with the Lyrica pretty solidly.

So has anyone else had this happen while starting Lyrica?

I've tried lyrica 3-4 separate times over 8 months and each time it made my symptoms worse. I have crps II affecting my legs and i feel a constant vibration running down each leg. When i tried lyrica it seemed like the vibrations would be stronger and my muscles twitched more. Extremely jumpy and lots more electrical zingers. I threw it out. Maybe your doctor can give you something else to try. Best of luck to you.

Angry

So tonight my bursitis in my hips flared up (cause you know my body can't resist taking another opportunity to fail me at this point ). It hasn't done that in years!

I think maybe I should call my doctor tomorrow and schedule an appointment.

I have the vibrations too. I keep looking for my phone sitting on the couch thinking that's what is vibrating. Hasn't been my phone yet.

PM wants to start me on Lyrica. Waiting to see if insurance is going to cover it.

I hope it works better for you than it is for me! My PM said she's seen people remit after being on it.

Some people gain weight on Lyrica. I haven't gained a pound.

I also gained on Lyrica. My neurologist switch me to Gabapentin and I'm slowly going back to were I was. Hopefully!

Interesting! I've heard people really not like gabapentin but I'm so glad you are liking it!

Mad

Ugh. Now a ridiculously itchy rash too. Could be from CRPS, could be from the Lyrica either as a side effect or as drug-induced lupus, could be from the kinesio tape I wear at the site (unlikely as I've been wearing it for months now with no problems). I'm going with it's a Lyrica side effect as I don't have enough symptoms to meet criteria for lupus (I think) and it started around the time I started Lyrica. Plus I have joint pain in non-affected limbs.

Doctor didn't call me back last time I called about side-effects. Looks like I will spend Monday calling them incessantly until they get back to me.
