Default Stellate Ganglion Block

I have RSD, and recently got a new flare in a new area - my shoulders. The result has been VERY LITTLE use of my arms, and almost no progress with physical therapy over the past 2 & 1/2 months. My RSD doc wants me to have a Stellate Ganglion Block, which I've never had. I did some reading, and have noted that most people have a series of blocks. I'm just trying to avoid invasive procedures as much as possible, partially due to our crummy insurance with the $5,000.00 deductible. Anyway, I'm going to go for my first MJ doctor appointment tomorrow, and to the dispensary afterwords to get my first hemp products. I'm hoping these will be effective enough to be able to avoid the blocks. Can anyone give me feedback on the blocks, and/or how medical marijuana has been helpful?
Thanks,
Gigi

hi gigi. i have had rsd (that started in my right wrist after accidentally breaking it) for almost five years and had eight nb done during the first year (one a week) in my neck. it helped a bit with the swelling and other symptoms but not alot. but everyone reacts differently and maybe it will help you more. it's of course has to be your decision. if i were you i would get several opinions on it from a pm dr and neurologist and gp. i was anesthetized when i had mine done because i couldn't handle being awake for a needle in my neck. but everyone can handle things differently too. i'm not a dr so check with them but if you do get it done, i hope it helps ease your rsd pain. soft hugs.

hi!

i personally had 2 blocks over this past year in my neck. Now everyone does have their own reaction to them, but i personally did not receive results. Then again, i had 2 steroid injections with no response as well. Now, my dr wanted to perform my 2nd stellate gaglion block so after he could make sure it works. If it does work he said your eye should be droopy and hand warm. Sure enough they were but it did nothing for me. Now yours may be much different , i wish you the best of luck!!
