Default Something funny to share with you girls and guys.

I went to my Drs. appt. today. This one was with my PCP. His office is my home away from home.

He had a young girl there from Brazil that was doing part of her residency. He has helped many students in the years Bill and I have went there. This girl looked to be about 18 but I know she had to be a little older. She said after she finished her training there she would go to a hospital somewhere for two years to finish her residency. She told me that my Dr. wanted her to go over my chart with me. It's part 4 and it's about 3 inches thick. It's also divided into 3 parts. One for my councelling, one for medical and the other has the test in it I've had. My nurse stood there looking at her for a few seconds because she thought it was funny that this girl couldn't figure out my chart. She explained it to her before she went out.

Anyway, her last name was spelled La. Now who could misspell her last name?
She started asking me questions about why I was there today and I told her for shots but if he didn't have time it was ok, I needed a script and he usually councels me if I am having a bad time which here lately has been really bad again. She asked me what was wrong with me and I started telling her. I named off RSD first and she asked me what it was. After I told her what it stood for then she knew what it was. I proceeded to tell her as much as I could about my diagnoses and she asked questions about my depression and I explained my VNS to her and more questions about my depression. Then she asked me about my meds, she looked shocked that I was only on 3 meds with all of my medical problems but I told her about not being able to take them due to the sided effects. She asked me why I was taking each one and this went on for 45 minutes. I don't know whether he thought she could learn a lot from my medical history or if he was pulling some kind of joke on her. He does things like that sometimes.

We talked about her jewelry and what it was made of. Her necklace was made of some kind of coal from Brazil and her ring was made from coconut. Never heard of jewelry being made from coconut before. I really liked her. She said she hadn't decided what field she was going into yet but I think she will do good because she was a good listener.

She asked me about if I'd tried certain meds for this and that and if I'd considered ECT treatment for my depression. She asked me about the 18 surgeries I'd had in the last 12 years and what the tumors were they took out of me and on and on. She had a little computer thing in her hand and when we talked about Clonedine and it helping with sweating she looked on that little computer to read up on it. Same with Noravasc when I told her about Bill and what I thought that med did to him. She was very interested in everything I said.

After the 45 minutes she was wondering where he was and I thought he was in the next room with another patient, which it turned out he wasn't, he was giving her time with me. After awhile she again said she wondered where he was. She was getting uncomfortable waiting for him and she finally got up and said, " I can't heal you, I need to go find him. This girl was serious. I just cracked up, I told her not to worry about it because he's had 17 years to heal me and he hadn't done it so she sure couldn't do it in 45 minutes.

I told him about what she said and he just broke out laughing so hard his eyes watered.

I just keep going over it and wondering what was she thinking?

Oh Dream, thanks so much! I really needed that, it's been a horrible week. There's nothing better than an idealistic youth, lol.
